Dog-proof inclined climbing wall ideas?

Howdy,

My dad and I are hoping to build an inclined climbing wall up to my nephews treehouse platform we are building him. He has a maniac of a dog who will absolutely try and get up into the treehouse when my nephew and/or his friends are up there, maybe even when he’s outside just by himself. It’s about 8.5 ft up and simply having a gate at the top won’t work, as once his dog is up there, he likely won’t be able to get down safely. He’s dead set on having a climbing wall so we are trying to figure out how to make it so that his dog can’t go up at all. He’s a pretty tall 70 lb pit bull who is quite athletic.

My google searches return some general info but nothing that really solves the problem and doesn’t create others (leaving the bottom 5 ft of the climbing wall bare doesn’t allow for 11-12 y/os to climb up).

One thing is for sure - anything we create, if it has to move into place, must be able to move back to its position by itself and not rely on my nephew remembering to put it away (As in a self-closing gate using a spring). He would forget his head if it wasn’t attached and can’t be trusted to remember to do this.

Keeping costs low is the goal as well, and thank you in advance for your suggestions!

Relaxing activities before bed? Not just the generic ones everyone says...

Hi there,

I'm looking for relaxing activities before bed that are not just the cookie-cutter advice everyone gives. I'll do some stretching and light yoga, but I'd also like some out-of-the-box ideas. One I have is to try whittling. I know it involves sharp objects, but I'll use safety equipment and go slow. I'll do some easy, on-paper sudoku as well. What are other activities that don't involve much movement, are only barely engaging for the brain, and help you relax and not focus on whether or not you'll sleep poorly and feel bad the next day?

I have a 10-day period prior to a medical procedure in October where I won't be able to take my insomnia meds so I'm gathering my tools ahead of time. I've worked with a sleep psychologist before and it helped, so I'm taking the Mayo Clinic's online CBT-I course as a refresher. Mania is a risk for me with insomnia (as it is for everyone, but I've been diagnosed with Bipolar II) and I want to minimize it as much as possible, so I'm willing to be quite diligent in my behaviors to sleep well.

Just as an FYI, I've done a sleep study, don't have apnea or anything else, have seen 2 sleep specialists, and actively and faithfully work with a psychiatrist to manage mental health and insomnia issues. Also, I don't use stimulant drugs or any other weird, obvious things that would cause insomnia like this. Constructive feedback only, please. Trying to stay as least-stressed about this as possible.

Thanks in advance!

Can microdosing be safe while still on medications that are contraindicated for flood dose?

I am working towards Ibogaine treatment for primarily mold and chemical sensitivities. I have to go off all 6 mental health meds i take in order to get the green light. That’s a tall order. Does anyone have info as to whether or not the risk of arrhythmia goes down enough so that maybe I don’t have to go off all of them to try micro dosing? I currently take and have to go off of:

Bupropion (Wellbutrin)
Adderall
Doxepin
Quetiapine (Seroquel)
Lamotrigine (Lamictal)
Lithium

I have a bipolar 2 diagnosis that I’ve always suspected may not be accurate. I had a short bout of hypomania right after I graduated college but finishing college was very stressful so I’m not sure about bipolar 2. That said, it’s a ton did medication to go off of and it carries risk so I want to look at all options.

Thank you

Easy to open, easy to clean melodica?

Hi there,

I have severe sensitivities to mold and I’m looking for a Melodica that’s quick and easy to open up so that I can dry it out completely after every use. This may seem extreme but it really is necessary. Just using the dry/spit valve won’t do. Are there any melodicas that are reasonably priced that maybe close with latches or something? The cheaper models I own take a long time to unscrew and they aren’t made to be taken apart almost daily. The hardware is wearing out already. My searches have come up empty. Ty
