2026 M3 verdict - road trip edition

We picked up our RWD M3 on Friday (June 26, 2026) and we got PPF and tint put on it from a local detailing shop in Edmonton on June 30th and pretty much immediately took it on a road trip from Edmonton to Calgary then to Canmore and finally to Emerald Lake and then back to Edmonton. Superchargers are super convenient along HW2 and from Calgary to Canmore. One thing I learnt is “Tesla Destination charger” is not the same as “Tesla super chargers” learnt that the hard way lolol

FSD Impression - it’s honestly amazing. It does almost everything perfectly.. the only complaint I have is that it does not yet dodge potholes (this is a real issue in Edmonton) and will just run over them lol from my understanding this will not be an issue in the future with a software update. I honestly might think about paying the $99/ month subscription when the trail ends.

Cabin impression - it’s super quiet from what I’m used to. I still have 2 gas powered vehicles and the M3 is sooooo quiet it’s amazing I can actually hear the music super clear. Also, pet mode is such a game changer. We took our 20lbs Bichon with us and there were times in Canmore we had to leave him in the car for a little bit (our condo was in Calgary) and having that piece of mind that he’s comfortable and the fact that I can see him from my phone is amazing. The only complaint I have and it’s probably because of my own fault tbh. But for some reason, after a long period of time of sitting in the car seat, I get lower back pain and need to re adjust myself. I don’t get lower back pains in my other vehicles.. I think I need to play around with the seating until I can find a comfortable spot to just sit in.

Exterior impression - this thing is so aerodynamic it’s mind blowing (again I’m used to gas powered vehicles where they have edges, curves, and etc).

Let me know if you have any other questions regarding the vehicle and I’ll try my best to answer them when I can.

***EDIT*** I ended up getting a wicked rock chip on my windshield coming back to Edmonton lol

I must say. Tesla reaction time is something else.. I think. I would’ve 100% hit him in an ICE vehicle
