Any body in the same boat? Ordered Y RWD Stealth Grey on Mar 9th, EDD May 24 - 29th. Haven't received any messsage to confirm a date yet. I saw in other posts people ordered the same model after me have schduled a delivery date. Can't wait for my firrst car to arrive!
Insurance Quotes now available
You can now find insurance quotes on rates.ca and lowestrates.ca.
So far it looks like it's through economical but I also saw Aviva, Pembridge and Wawanessa.
Cash vs Financing
Hi, I ordered M3 Premium RWD.
I wonder if there is any benefits of financing despite the 5% interest.
My income is over 150k CAD so either way works for me... but I dont have 45k CAD in hand which means I will need to sell my stocks in TFSA. I guess losing the TFSA contribution room is a big loss but I still think 5% interest is pretty huge... Also my credit score is 830.
Gemini and Claude failed to convince me to finance the car. Does anyone have a good reason for financing?
Buy now or wait for leased cars to hit the market
Ok so I'm not sure if its my buyers remorse, but i ordered RWD Model 3 on May 15th. Its 50K after tax and everything. Should i keep the order or go for used 2024 Model 3 AWD Long Range.
Right now there aren't many used ones on market but they are between 45-50K on average for about 40-50k kms on them. But soon enough 2 year leases will end and there will be plenty of them out in dealerships and on tesla pre owned inventory as well, and they might be cheaper than current pricings.
No auto Pliot - HUGE VERY HUUUGE TURN OFF - used AWD would have it.
RWD in Manitobas snow and winter - Manageable but not optimal - AWD better choice
Now 0-100 is 6.2, its not bad but way slower than AWD Dual motor
Warranty is 160K - AWD IS 192K, so if i get used one around 40K kms, i would still get 150K remaining for Warranty
Speaker system is big downgrade from AWD
463KM range for RWD and 500+ for AWD.
Considering all the downsides current RWD have compared to AWD, getting a used one with 40k kms at same price as RWD sounds like a better deal to me.
What do yall suggest?
Just to add some salt to the wound.. this is hilarious, so I thought I would share this

Re: Order Number XXXXXXXXXXX — Material Specification Changes and Request for Price Adjustment
To Whom It May Concern:
I am writing regarding my order for a 2026 Tesla Model 3 Premium Rear-Wheel Drive, Order Number XXXXXXXXXX, placed on May 2, 2026. I intend to proceed with delivery of this vehicle; however, I wish to formally document significant concerns about material changes to the vehicle’s specifications that have occurred since I placed my order.
Original Specifications at Time of Order (May 2, 2026)
When I placed my order and paid the $250.00 non-refundable deposit, the Vehicle Configuration listed the following key specifications for the Model 3 Premium RWD at a total price of $44,712.00 (including fees):
• Acceleration (0–100 km/h): 4.2 seconds
• Peak DC Fast Charging Speed: 250 kW
• Warranty Coverage: 192,000 km
Subsequent Specification Changes
Since my order date, Tesla has altered these specifications on multiple occasions:
• May 3, 2026: Acceleration changed from 4.2 seconds to 5.2 seconds (0–100 km/h)
• May 8, 2026: Peak DC fast charging speed reduced from 250 kW to 175 kW
• May 8, 2026: Warranty coverage reduced from 192,000 km to 160,000 km
• May 19, 2026: Acceleration further changed from 5.2 seconds to 6.2 seconds (0–100 km/h)
In total, the acceleration performance has been degraded by 48% (from 4.2s to 6.2s), the charging speed has been reduced by 30% (from 250 kW to 175 kW), and the warranty has been shortened by 32,000 km. These changes occurred across four separate revisions over a span of only 17 days following my order. The purchase price has remained unchanged at $44,712.00.
Costs Incurred in Reliance on the Original Specifications
In reliance on the vehicle specifications as listed at the time of my order, I have incurred the following costs in preparation for delivery:
• EV charger (purchased): $630.00
• Electrical wiring, junction boxes, and materials: approximately $500.00
• Electrical Safety Authority (ESA) inspection: approximately $100.00
• Approximately 20 hours spent researching insurance options, electrical standards, charging infrastructure, and performing the electrical installation
These expenditures total over $1,230.00 in direct out-of-pocket costs, in addition to the significant time invested. All of these costs were incurred specifically because I was preparing to receive the vehicle as originally specified.
Basis for This Request
I note that the Motor Vehicle Order Agreement states that the vehicle is “priced and configured based on features and options available at the time of order.” The features available and listed at the time of my order on May 2, 2026 included the original specifications set out above. I relied on those representations when I committed to the purchase and began incurring preparation costs.
While I acknowledge the Agreement’s Limitation of Liability clause, I respectfully submit that the cumulative effect of these changes—four specification downgrades in 17 days, with no corresponding price adjustment—may constitute an unfair practice under Ontario’s Consumer Protection Act, 2002, and raises questions about whether the specifications as advertised on the order date were accurate and reliable representations of the vehicle I would receive.
Requested Resolution
I am requesting one of the following resolutions:
1. Deliver the vehicle with the original specifications as listed on May 2, 2026; or
2. Adjust the purchase price downward to reflect the materially reduced specifications, including compensation for the reliance costs I have incurred; or
3. Provide compensatory value in the form of Tesla services or packages to offset the reduced specifications—for example, a Premium Connectivity subscription, Full Self-Driving (Supervised) capability, an extended service agreement, or Supercharger credits—at a value reasonably proportionate to the difference between the original and revised specifications and the reliance costs I have incurred.
I would welcome the opportunity to resolve this matter directly with Tesla and am open to discussing any of the above options or an alternative arrangement that fairly addresses the gap between what was ordered and what is being delivered. If I do not receive a satisfactory response within 14 days, I intend to pursue the matter through the Ontario Motor Vehicle Industry Council (OMVIC), the Motor Vehicle Dealers Compensation Fund, and any other remedies available to me under Ontario law.
I wish to reiterate that I intend to take delivery of this vehicle. However, I am doing so under protest with respect to the specification changes described above, and I expressly reserve all rights to seek a price adjustment or other remedies.
I look forward to your prompt response.
Wouldn’t it be better to get a 2024+ M3 instead of new?
In the used car market, 2024 Model 3s (highland) with around 45,000 to 60,000 kilometres are selling for about $45,000 CAD. These are mostly AWD models with a higher range and performance than the new M3 RWD premium. Since the new model has been downgraded per the spec sheet, wouldn’t it make more sense to buy a used M3 instead? You lose out on the new factor and have less warranty but overall value might be better?
Does all my old accessories for the new model 3 premium rwd fit?
Does anyone know if the accessories fit ok on the new car?
Mostly concerned about the weather mats and trunk liner.
Edit: sorry should've added I got a 2023 model 3 sr rwd
French Premium RWD model 3 is still 5.2 for 0-100
I feel like the car is capable of 0-100 in 5.2 seconds, but since they have priced it pretty cheaper than other countries, they will give us slowed down version of it and in few weeks they will release acceleration boost update with a price tag of 3-4k dollars to make the speed 5.2
Am i crazy to believe that or this theory sounds legit?
MODEL Y RWD - Edd change
Hi all! Did any of you guys get a Edd change? Mine changed from July-August to Aug to October.
I ordered at the start of April..
Model Y Standard - Rear Screen
I ordered a Model Y Standard, I'm ok with all the things they took out of this car vs the Premium, but the one thing I really wanted was a rear screen for the kids. Is it possible to add a stock rear screen to the car? Can you even purchase stock parts? Or do you have to go aftermarket.
MYS delivery date is finally confirmed (3/14~6/30)
Received a message from Tesla saying schdule the delivery date. Model Y Rwd stealth grey.
Ordered on March 14 and the scheduled delivery date is May 30, so it takes 2 months and 2 weeks.
Fyi vin is 866 and gta
Used from Tesla?
Is it worth paying the premium buying directly from Tesla given the red hot used EV market? Or so long as the carfax report is clean and 1 owner it’s worth the (market) risk?
Canada Model 3 RWD = Same Specs as China Premium RWD?
cdn model spec same as Tesla China premium rwd
Is it now safe to assume that all the Model 3 RWDs we’re getting in Canada are basically aligned with the China-built Model 3 RWD premium specs Even the pricing seems to line up pretty closely.
Tesla China:
235,500 RMB × 0.20 ≈ CAD 47,100 (cars in China have the 13% VAT included)
Tesla Canada:
~42,132 + HST ≈ CAD 47,609
The range numbers are different, but that could just be due to different testing standards (CLTC vs. EPA).
Also, since deliveries are happening in June, it didnt really make sense for Tesla to suddenly switch to a different spec/configuration. Before, the acceleration figures weren’t lining up (4.2 vs. 5.2 sec), and honestly that made things more confusing. Now, at least, it seems consistent.
If the above is correct, then we are getting:
- 9 speakers
- Rear screen
- Double-pane glass
- Ventilated seats
- Vegan leather
- Photon wheels
- 463 EPA (634 CLTC) range
- Ambient lighting
- indicator stalks
- Front Facing Camera
- Seat adjustment button
- Heated Seat Front and Back
If they probably change any of the features above, I will definitely cancel the order.
And for everyone upset about Tesla, I get it — it sucks. But walk into Toyota anywhere in ontario and try buying a RAV4 Hybrid or Camry Hybrid. You deal with stupid markups, upselling on accessories, and dealers not even giving you an allocation and making you wait.
It’s all the same in the end. It just depends on what you’re willing to put up with. whether it’s Tesla or Toyota, companies are still trying to maximize profits, and consumers end up dealing with markups, upselling, waitlists, or changing specs
EDD CHANGED
Ordered May 12th. Montreal based. The app was saying June 6-30 yesterday and now it’s moved to Aug 17 - Sept 28
Wtf
Would Canadian Model 3 Premium RWD buyers support asking Tesla for a goodwill remedy after post-order spec changes!?
For people who ordered the 2026 Model 3 Premium RWD before the specs changed on Tesla Canada’s website, would you support asking Tesla for a goodwill remedy?
I don’t want to cancel my order, but if the delivered car has lower specs than what were shown when we ordered — charging speed, battery/drive unit warranty, acceleration/motor, etc. I think Tesla should at least provide clear written confirmation and some form of goodwill compensation.
Possible remedies could be extra FSD trial time beyond 1 or 3 months, 1 year of FSD, Premium Connectivity, accessory/service credit, or a small price adjustment.
I know lifetime FSD is probably unrealistic, but if many affected buyers ask politely and consistently, Tesla may be more likely to acknowledge the issue.
Would anyone else be interested in messaging Tesla Canada about this!?
