Installing underfloor heating before potential extension
Hello, potentially silly question here.
For context: We've just moved into a 90s 2-bed 95sqm bungalow and considering installing a heat pump. I'm incentivised to do it within a year since we have a £2k green grant from our mortgage on top of the Energy Scotland grants so it's potentially cheap. We may eventually do a loft extension and/or back-of-house extension in a few years time (at least 2+ years).
The question is really, if I install "whole home" underfloor heating now, can it be extended without redoing the entire system if we do an extension? Is there a way to plan for this with an installer? 🤔 If I really want underfloor, am I better waiting until I do an extension and just getting more radiators?
Bonus question: Underfloor vs Extra Radiators. Any personal preferences or downsides? My partner is worried about maintainability or if something goes wrong needing to pull up our entire floor so any personal experiences or opinions are appreciated 🙏
