Ocotillo Zoo (My first completed zoo!)

With Planet Zoo 2 on the horizon, I figured it was time to step back into my zoo projects and try to finish them! I give you my first-ever finished zoo: Ocotillo Zoo!

This is a desert-themed zoo (obviously), and it gets its name from the Ocotillo, a flowering plant native to the Southwestern United States, which is where I imagine this zoo would be located. The last photo is a full aerial map of the zoo, showing where all the exhibits are located.

If anyone's interested in checking out this finished product, let me know, and I'll upload it to the Steam workshop.

Any comments and criticisms are welcome!

Dead Celebrity Trivia: August 8th, 2026

Good afternoon, everyone. I sincerely hope you've had a better week than I have...I was involved in a minor car accident a few days ago (thankfully, I wasn't hurt), and to top it off, I was charged for an automatic payment on my credit card that failed to go through, locking my credit card...so I've been dealing with a gauntlet of irritation with police reports, insurance companies, customer service, and a lot of other stressful things. So yeah...it's not been a fun past few days for me.

But I'm sure you're not here to listen to me ramble about my woes...you're here for some trivia. Let's begin, shall we?

If you're new to these games, or if you'd like to review how to play, you can find the rules here.

Let's go!

Last Song Standing: The Ultimate UK #1 Song of the 80's - Round 45 TIEBREAKER

Well, for the first time ever in the history of these games, there has been a three-way tie for which songs to eliminate: John Lennon's "Woman", David Bowie & Mick Jagger's "Dancing in the Street", and Madonna's "La Isla Bonita" have all received 8 upvotes apiece.

The three-way tiebreaker will work in the same way the two-way tiebreakers have in the past: I'll post a "nomination" post for each song in the comments of this post. The TWO songs with the most upvotes in this tiebreaker round will be eliminated.

The tiebreaker round will last exactly 24 hours. In the event of another tie after 24 hours, I will wait until one song pulls ahead in the voting before the next round begins, when we will eliminate the two songs with the most votes.

Let the voting begin...

Last Song Standing: The Ultimate UK #1 Song of the 80's - Round 41 TIEBREAKER

For a reminder of the rules, see the original post.

For the first time in this game, we have a tie between two songs, which necessitates our first tiebreaker in this version of the game. But first, let's get the first song to be voted out last round out of the way...

 • While Michael Jackson wasn't as big of a star in the UK as he was on the US charts in the 80's, he still had quite a bit of success across the pond - but surprisingly, his first solo #1 in the UK not only didn't even reach the top 40 in the US, it wasn't even released in the 1980's! "One Day in Your Life" was originally recorded in 1975 for the album Forever, Michael, and didn't make much of an impact. But after the success of Jackson's album Off the Wall, a re-release of the 70's song was able to reach #55 on the Billboard Hot 100 and #1 on the UK pop chart for two weeks in 1981, a year and a half before the release of Thriller. And while I'm sure we all remember a place of someone touching our face, the voters have come back and looked around...and while we remember MJ somehow, we find that we don't need his song in this game now - though the music from the King of Pop will stay in our heart, things have fallen apart for this song in this game!

Last Song Standing: The Ultimate UK #1 Song of the 80's - Round 41

For a reminder of the rules, see the original post.

 • Lionel Richie's second solo album Can't Slow Down produced five hit singles, one of which reached #1 in the UK, becoming Richie's only chart-topping song in that country, staying at the top for twice as long as it did in the US (six weeks, as opposed to three weeks). The song was bolstered in popularity by an often-lampooned music video, in which Richie portrayed a teacher infatuated with one of his blind students. Perhaps it's because of said video, or perhaps it's Richie's pining vocals that have caused the people voting in this game to wish they were alone with any other song inside their minds...Lionel may now want to ask how to win this game, for he hasn't got a clue, since the only song he has in the running has said adieu - it's certainly not him these voters are looking for, because this game has now said goodbye to Lionel Richie's "Hello"!
 • Two songs called "The Power of Love" were able to become chart-topping songs in the UK less than a year apart: Frankie Goes to Hollywood's song of that name reached #1 in December 1984, and in October 1985, Queens, New York-born Jennifer Rush had a five-week run at the top of the UK charts with an unrelated love ballad of the same name. The song would become the best-selling single of 1985 in the UK, the ninth best-selling single of the entire decade, and would inspire cover versions by Air Supply, Laura Branigan, and Celine Dion, who reached #1 in the US with her version. But now, the whispers in the morning of the people voting up are rolling by like thunder as we look in this song's eyes...and while Jennifer is our lady, and we are her men (and women), she has reached for us once too often, and she's done all that she can to last in this game - and now, lost is how she's feeling, because her song is now heading for somewhere she's never been: the eliminated list!

Last Song Standing: The Ultimate UK #1 Song of the 80's - Round 31

For a reminder of the rules, see the original post.

 • "Red Red Wine" was originally recorded by Neil Diamond in 1967 for his second album Just For You, but it never charted due to not being released as a single. Sixteen years later, though, British reggae group UB40 released a cover version which would top the UK charts and crack the US Billboard Top 40 (a remixed version of the song released in 1988 would later hit #1 in the US). And while some might have thought that with time, thoughts of eliminating this song would leave this subreddit's mind, they were wrong...and now, the voters have torn apart the band's blue, blue heart by eliminating their last song in the game - but fortunately for UB40, the memories won't go!

 • In early 1983, New Edition released their debut album when the members were only between the ages of 14 and 16, and the titular track from the album reached #1 on both the US Black Singles chart and the UK singles chart. But while the taste of a big hit on the charts was oh so sweet, a special treat; after last round, the voters have knocked Ralph, Ronnie, Bobby, Ricky and Mike right off their feet...and now, it looks like the people have turned sour on "Candy Girl"!

ELIMINATED SONGS

1-108. TBD
109. Candy Girl - New Edition

 • Though here in America we rarely give it a second thought, the Eurovision Song Contest was and still is a big deal in Europe, and in 1980, Johnny Logan represented Ireland with a song that not only won the contest that year, but reached the top of the UK charts. Logan's been waiting such a long time (nine rounds), looking out for the #1 spot, but it's not here, and after the votes last round, it never will be for Logan - but "What's Another Year" for someone who's lost the only song that he owns in this game?
 • In 1983, the finale to the TV series M*A*S*H became one of the most-watched TV shows of all time, but some younger people may not know that the hit TV show was inspired by a hit movie, and ten years after the movie's release, the "Theme from M*A*S*H (Suicide is Painless)" by session musicians The Mash reached the top of the UK charts thanks to being heavily played on BBC radio by DJ Noel Edmonds. But now, we must say goodbye, farewell, and amen to the iconic theme, because through early morning fog I see the end of this song's lifespan in this game!
 • In 1984, legendary soul and R&B star Jackie Wilson died at age 49 after suffering a debilitating heart attack almost a decade prior that he never really recovered from. But three years after his passing, a Claymation video aired on the documentary series Arena brought about a surge in popularity of Wilson's first big hit, "Reet Petite", which became the Christmas #1 in 1987. But although this song is sweet, the finest song you'd ever want to meet, I think the voters might find it a bit more sour - the clay has dried up on Wilson's big posthumous hit!
