100 Days til Planet Zoo 2

We’re at our last triple digit day in the PZ2 countdown, I’m honestly sad there’s still so much time left! What features is everyone most excited about and what habitats are we planning to build right out of the gate? I’m really thinking about making a huge aquarium park 🙂‍↕️

Questions about Franchise Mode!

Hey y'all, I've been contemplating dipping my toes into Franchise Mode, but I have some apprehensions and curiosities about it that I would like some more insight from! I have been doing some research on the mode overall, but I'd like direct confirmation about some things before committing to it!

My challenge mode Zoo just recently surpassed 1 mil, has sustained four stars consistently, and I have nearly 30k CC. So to say the least, I got the hang of the game and I can do well for my Zoo. But, with that being said, I'm really committed to my challenge mode zoo, so here's some specific questions I have in regards to Franchise mode:

- How often do you struggle to get the animals you want? I read that Frontier will put in cheaper options of the animals you may want if the player sold ones are too expensive like every 15 minutes, but does it highly impact your gameplay if it occurs too often? I like the challenge of working with the player economy, but I don't want that hinder my experience either.

- Do you make money from the animals you sell and then are bought by other players? Like, I assume so because that is very self explanatory, but my AuDHD brain says otherwise 😂 But, is it money, or conservation credits that you earn? Do you get to decide how much you sell the animals for, and in which payment? I think it'd only be CC, but feel free to correct me. I know nothing lol

- How does trading your animals between your own Zoo work? Is there a different menu for trading between your own zoo versus the player market? And given that feature, how do you personally use this? I've read that people use it for breeding, or having a Zoo specifically for money / CC. Do you focus specific Zoo's on certain animals and use that for your other projects? I'm just curious about other player's game style here, that's all lol

- How hard is it to get Colormorphs in Franchise vs Challenge? I have been embarking on a huge project to collect all the Colormorphs in my main zoo. I'd like to keep at that in that Zoo and continue different collections in Franchise mode. However, because of the economy being different, is it more difficult to obtain them?

I think that's all of my questions in regards to Franchise mode! I really want to try it and I very likely will, regardless of the responses I get here 😂 I just like to get some insight before jumping into a new project that will potentially take me away from other ones. Thank you for reading, and for any insight you may have to share! ✨

Today I learned the walkthrough mesh panels work incredibly for indoor exhibits, compared to the mesh peices. Same space before and after.

DLC

Hello, I’m planning to buy another DLC, but I’m not sure which one. I’ve already had a look through previous posts, but I still can’t make up my mind. I like it when a DLC has plenty of interesting building elements, but at the same time I like interesting animals. At the moment, I have Conservation, Wetlands, North America and Aquatic

How to manage over population

How do you manage over breeding? Like what do you do with the mom and pop to prevent inbreeding? Do I ship out the parents and keep the offsprings? Bring in a new set of males or females to breed with the offsprings??my Indian peacock have like 3 or 4 offspring lol

Would kinda love to see more mechanics around the ethics of color breeding

I realize this might not be a popular one, because a lot of people love breeding for albinos and other variants and it's just a game, but considering how much of an issue it can be from an ethics/conservation standpoint in real life (especially with certain species like tigers) I think it would be interesting to see that reflected in gameplay.

Animals with a flashy and rare color tend to bring in a lot of attention and potentially money, but the process of getting them often involves inbreeding or other ethically dubious practices, and generally doesn't produce animals that can be released or contribute much to conservation efforts. If anything, having them can be a red flag for an IRL facility's priorities/ethics (such as the place a while back that somehow managed to have an "accidental" litter of white liger cubs that, of course, got massive attention and went viral).

It's always felt unrealistic to me that an albino/leucistic/menalistic animal has no impact on either that animal's popularity or your zoo's reputation/conservation rating and I'd love to have that acknowledged in some way.

Day 32 of building a habitat everyday until Planet Zoo 2 Releases

Hayo Zookeepers! Happy 4th of July fellow Americans! Its Day 32 and the wheel has chosen the sand cat. I saw a walkthrough habitat at Zoo Magdeburg and decided to take inspiration from that. Lemme know what you think!

What would it take for you to warm up to one of the unpopular animals in Planet Zoo 2?

For the species often clowned on around these parts like the Formosan Black Bear and Himalayan Brown Bear, what would people want to see to make you like them more?

Own thought is that A, I am not super bothered by them, though if we got a Subspecies dial that let us toggle from different subspecies of say, Asian Black Bears I would not mind that, and B, that the reserve system might open up some more fun avenues they help open.

Basically that Scottish explosion we are seeing, but for Taiwan-Formosa, I'd like that.

Also C, it feels more and more likely that we're getting a decently sized roster to start with, so not sure I'd mind, like, 8 odd animals from that island amidst everything else. Even if a few of them are sort of 'lazy' clones.

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Japanese_serow

As a theoretical example given the Japanese Serow is a fairly popular guess animal around here. If its like the bear, the Mikado Pheasant, and a few 'clone' animals I wouldn't mind that in a roster that looks more and more likely to be in the mid 100s with tons of other beasts.

(Though I also never clowned much on Dark Pit, so maybe that's just me)

Which are the three best packs (not in the premium edition)?

Thinking about buying the premium edition plus three more packs to start, wondering what everyone thinks the best packs are that I could get to add onto this. Premium edition includes aquatic, Eurasia, barnyard, Africa, zookeepers, America's, and Asia. Thinking about wetlands for sure, I love capys

Crash Help

Hello. Do y'all have fixes to help a minimum-spec player stop crashing? For context, I booted up the game this morning and upon opening the zoo I had been working on for a while, it quickly crashed. I've heard that it might be due to the number of guests (I'm currently at around 800), and while I would love to keep that zoo going, I either have to run it with the absolutely lowest graphics settings possible or it will crash.

Does anyone know why it might be crashing if it isn't the amount of people, and are there any fixes to the people problem other than just making a smaller zoo? It just seemingly overloads my CPU every time I open it.

Finally, if a smaller zoo is the only road, how many habitat animals can someone typically get in a zoo before it reaches 800 guests?
