Vaccine Coverage on Wellness Plans
All but one insurer I've looked at has laid out their "Wellness Plan" vaccination coverage like this, with all individual vaccines listed under one header, with one listed "limit."
So say I pick the "Best Wellness" plan listed here. Then my dog gets three vaccinations, each one costing $70, for a total of $210 spent on vaccinations. Am I only getting back $55, or will I get back $165 ($55 per vaccination)?
After sitting and reading sample contracts for nearly 25 plans over the past few days, I understand they nickel and dime the hell out of you, so it's *probably* only $55 total for vaccinations for the year, but I just wanted to make sure.
(And, since these same insurers won't cover illness arising out of something for which a vaccine is available, I'm also morbidly curious if anyone lives in a place where $55 would actually cover all the vaccines--Lyme, DHPP, Bordatella, Influenza, and Rabies--because the cheapest single vaccination my vet gave last year was $61.)
