My sibling says I need to give back something our parent left me
A few months after our parent passed, I was given a small collection of tools that had been sitting in their garage. They were always the ones I used when I helped out around the house, and they specifically said they wanted me to have them. My sibling thinks that since they were not mentioned in any paperwork they should stay with the rest of the estate and be divided. I offered to let them borrow anything they needed, but they want the whole set returned. I have been using these tools regularly and they hold some memories, so parting with them feels off. I am not trying to be difficult, but I also do not want to hand over something that was meant for me. Would it be wrong to keep them, or should I just let it go to keep the peace?
