My Little Power Washing Kit

My Little Power Washing Kit

Hey again!

A few days ago I made a post about starting to wash/detail at my small apartment building and how to avoid water spots with hard water (https://www.reddit.com/r/AutoDetailing/s/QgyFJvCRqi)

I got everything in and I’m pretty happy with my setup. This is my first power washer and this little Ryobi 1.8 is great. I really wanted to make this as convenient and compact as possible to easily move and store. This Home Depot bin worked out perfectly for me. I cut out access points in the bin for the inlet and outlet hoses, so the unit never has to come out of the bin. I added quick releases to everything and that’s was really key. Everything stores neatly inside the bin. I carry out, plug it in and that’s it. It really makes the process enjoyable.

I upgraded the foam cannon to a Raincovo and I’ll definitely upgrade the hose, that thing is stiff.

I’m sure you guys who are much more seasoned could see my little kit and improve upon it, I really wish I could fit a small hose reel in this thing lol, but I’m happy.

Just wanted to share in case there’s some others here in the same boat as I am, apartment living, but with access to water and power. The size of this unit really makes it possible. Oh, and I actually had no issues with water spots from the hard water. I had enough shade to where I didn’t have to rush anything and the drying process was a non issue. I will be adding some products to even further help with this for other outside conditions. Superior Formula 4 sounds like a cool options or maybe some Gyeon Wet Coat.

This stuff really is fun!

Car Detailing With Hard Water

Hello all!

I have a question that I was hoping you guys can help me with. So I live in a small building apartment and I’m finally going to start washing/detailing my car here, after years of going to self car washes. I’m going to pick up a Ryobi 1.8 pressure washer and I’ll upgrade the foam canon. Luckily, I have power and a water spigot right where I park, but of course this will be hard water. The parking is uncovered, so I’ll try to only wash in the mornings or evenings to avoid direct sunlight, but I’m still outside and it’s not always avoidable. What would be my best methods for washing a car with hard water to avoid water spots? Do I rinse and immediately spray a drying aid on the car? The car is coated, so it’ll help a bit. Or is this not a huge concern as long as I’m not letting water sit and bake into the paint over hours/days?

Appreciate any feedback!

Thanks!
