What's the Melbourne (AUS) Scene like nowadays? Venues with good deals?
It's been a hot minute since I properly played, I've had a couple games here and there over the years but can't say I really kept up with what's been happening. Now I've got some friends looking to jump in, so I've been thinking of returning as a more regular player.
What's the scene looking like in Melbourne nowadays?
A couple years back I bumped into someone with FknSRS team tags which from what I remember were a group of pretty cracked players. He mentioned that a lot of old school players have since retired but our chat was brief and I didn't get to ask too much past that. He also mentioned that he could tell I was an old school player myself but I have no idea how. For those still about, can you tell if someones an old school player? What's the tell?
Also any good venues that do good deals nowadays?
I remember wayback at Timezone Knox before the management change and then location change, the old manager and staff had a special word of mouth deal where they gave out double credits to MaxiTune players. You could only play MaxiTune on a new card they gave you but if you got caught playing other games like ticket games then you lost access to the offer. Not sure if any places have something like that anymore but the venue.
