Guzzi V7 Filled Up With Water!
Have 2016 V7 II for about 1.5 years now. Unfortunately garage is full so I keep it outside, and I've been lazy about the cover. This has been fine it rained plenty, no issues. Then about about 1mo ago over a rainy weekend the sump seems to have filled up with water and pushed oil out - got a big puddle of oil in the driveway.
I didn't ride it since then for concerns of not enough lube, but I drained the oil, a good amount of water came out first before the oil, and there was some milkshake water sludge (like when a headgasket blows) in the filter cover gasket. I have it in the garage with the plugs out now. I checked in the airbox, maybe 1-2 tbsp of oil in it, not sure if that was there before.
Any thoughts on:
- Where it got into the oil system (it started very suddenly, was fine previous rain storms, then suddenly big puddle). I need to figure that out and close it up. It seems to have ran down the pan from the airbox breather hose but I can't quite figure out how or why.
- I cleaned as much of the milkshake off the filter cap as I could, I was thinking of riding it for 100mi after oil change, then doing another oil change to "flush" any residual out. Is this risky? There was only milkshake on the filter cover cap, so any residual water should be far out-weighed by the full sump of new oil, but IDK what the inside of the pan looks like.
Thanks
