Any expertise tuning 1400s?
Looking to tune my Audace 1400 in the spring, does anyone have know what kind of power gains I can expect with an open air box, exhaust and a tune?

Good evening everyone, I'm looking for a Guzzi Le Mans mk1 or mk2 to restore. Either a complete restoration or an ongoing project.
Stopped through Mandello on a recent motorcycle trip to lay eyes on moto guzzi home.
They’re making a new muesum won’t open until the fall so I didn’t see much.
But I will confess I have never had the honor to ride a guzzi. I have a small 250cc Suzuki in nyc.
Tried to do these motorcycle trip in a v85 but the rental spot had to give me a gs850 instead. Beautiful riding through the Dolomites. Had to endure 100 degree weather making it out of Milan but once I got into the mountains it cooled off.
wanted to share this with this sub.
Well, I ended shortly the trip cause tonight my hostel told me that there were going to do a "reggae progressive fest" at Unduesina town, so I preferred to just take a siesta and go back to Valencia, mostly because they already tested the speakers yesterday at night and it was a pain, so I didn't want to stay to find out if I could even sleep. Around 1400km done, and I really enjoyed the trip.
The bike with the new Hagon suspension worked good, I really, really recommend Belagua and Larrau roads, extremely satisfying for any European rider, beware of fog and livestock tho.
I tried to lower the costs by eating from food from home, take in mind the gas costs of the whole trip (120€ and 75 liters of gas, so around 5,2l/100km, not bad with a 93kg rider and 15kg luggage, initial fuel added into that and I gave quite some gas several times during the trip). I end up on 170€ costs with a single big meal and 2 nights at the hostel, quite good considering most hotels on the area or close are 80€/night, so win win.
All Navarra roads towards the locations I marked are extremely well maintained and fun to ride, my experience with France roads pleased me, too much traffic nowadays around the towns but once you go fully into the pyrenees there was no traffic at all, which is crazy for July.
The Basque France side was beautiful, I was more focused on the views than the ride for the most, mainly because I went without SIM card and I don't even know if my insurance was covering me, so I went a little softer than usual.
I would recommend the ride, really, maybe not so tight on time, cause I'm exaused, but still, it was worth it.
Sorry if I don't comment on Aragon route, I went a little straightforward with the main part of the route, but I ride with my Guzzi a lot on Teruel and south Aragon, literally docens and docens of times.
I am a decade long motorcycle rider.
I tried a few motorcycle, I currently own a 2014 650 V-strom. I ride dynamic, but not really aggressive.
I often get the itch for a more connected riding experience. On paper Guzzi sounds great. I like the style of current and past V7 i got on the seat of a 850 classic three years ago and then the protuberance of the fuel tank was annoying enough for me not to push further, but I know you can put pads there
If I was to try to have the best feel of a Guzzi, what model should I try?
Shinko 705s ride great and look great. Managed to fit a 140/80/17 on the rear with a hair to spare.
Hi everyone,
I'm thinking about replacing the tires on my Moto Guzzi V7 and I'd like to hear some real-world experiences from other owners.
Since the V7 uses a shaft drive, I'm particularly interested in knowing whether tire changes (especially the rear) are more complicated than on chain-driven bikes, and if there are any tips or common pitfalls to be aware of.
I'd also appreciate your recommendations on:
Best tire brands/models for mixed riding (city, country roads, occasional touring)
Tire longevity
Handling improvements compared to the OEM tires
Whether you've stayed with the stock tire sizes or switched to a different size
What are you currently running, and would you buy the same tires again?
Thanks!
Obviously pretty pumped up about it, excited to join the cult officially
Hey there dear Guzzi lovers,
As of today, I am the proud owner of a 2025 V85 Strada with only 10 km on the odometer.
I selected a few factory options at the dealership, including Cornering ABS.
However, this caused some issues.
The dealer mentioned that when they tried to add this option, something went wrong.
As a result, the ECU got corrupted/disrupted, and I couldn't pick up the bike on the agreed date.
According to the dealer, everything went blank, and they had to order a new component.
Today, I finally got the call that everything is working again. I picked up the bike and rode the first few kilometers. I'm very happy with it!
What a sound and vibrations haha i love it.
Yet, somewhere deep down, I am still doubting whether the Cornering ABS is actually installed now. It's not that I don't trust the dealer, but it keeps nagging at me a bit.
So here is my question: Is there any way to check on the dashboard whether this feature is actually present and active?
Just for my own peace of mind ;) I would love to hear your thoughts!
Thanks in advance!
I just sold my older Goldwing and I'm looking at a couple listings for the 1400 California Touring model. They've always appealed to me. Are there any concerns I should be aware of?
Sadly there was too much mist and after 30km of pure mist I touched France and went back, tomorrow I'll continue and go to Ainhoa, France and make a circle route.
Got the Moto Guzzi v9 bobber in this beautiful black. First Moto Guzzi bigger than my previous bikes and the personality and riding on this is comfortable and beautiful to zip around Chicago
Arrived at the hotel a few hours ago and went to my room for a nap. Went out for a smoke before dinner and saw an older green V85 TT had pulled up facing mine!
Having covered 2951 miles in 2 weeks, it’s time to rest up. After Scotland we came back through the Lake District, Northumbria and the North Yorkshire Moors….primarily as a way to ween ourselves off Scotland.
..I have many theories what it could be. Seating position, mellow vibrations, perfect amount of usable power. Whatever it is, it's crazy. Just minutes after getting on the rental today, I found myself way calmer, looking around, enjoying the ride. Something that I never felt any other bike could give me.
^(Feel free to skip the story-part and jump straight to the questions :))
Today I rented the final two candidates before I buy a new bike. Been without one for 2 weeks, and ...ugh. Coming from upper middleweight or even litre bikes (MT09, R1250R, Striple 765) I want to decelerate a bit. Put the joy back in riding. The bikes I have narrowed it down to were the Honda CL500 and the Guzzi V7 850.
I rented both for half a day today. And while I love the smoothness and ease of ride of the Honda (lightest clutch anyone will ever pull), and to absolutely squeeze the engine to the limit without losing my license, it is the Guzzi that I want.
The V7 and I have a weird history. I rode one last year (after coming back from my 4yr hiatus) and loved it, but was unsure. And then I rode it again. And again. And then I rented it for 2 hours. I always kept coming back but was never fully convinced.
The major reason for it may seem stupid to those who cannot relate. But I have tinnitus (despite earplugs and a good helmet), and it tends to get aggravated through pressure on the ears, either through sound or thumping vibrations. So since the first time I rode it, I thought the heavy vibes at standstill made my T worse every time I tried it. Because it certainly was worse when I got off it. Today I realized what it was really. Not the vibes, because there are barely any, but rather the road-chatter/jitter (see below).
Anyway. I want one. There is a 2022 with 5'000 mi / 8'000km on it at a super friendly Piaggio/Guzzi dealer 10 minutes away. But before I finally buy it, I have questions:
So I just tried out a really nice low mileage 2020 v7 750 and I'm so bummed out because it hasn't lived up to all I thought it would be. Don't get me wrong, its a gorgeus, comfortable bike and oozes charm, I love the rattles and shakes, however the damn brakes are among the worst feeling I ever tried, the rear brake is basically non existant and I don't know if it can be helped, also the neutral is just ridiculous. I know some bikes are difficult but come on... The biggest problem yet is my lanky legs, I hit the kidneys on the sides of the gas tank with my knees 🥺
I haven't crossed it off completely just because it rides and looks so cool but the inputs are really dissapointing.
Gonna try an interceptor to compare next

Hello everyone. Im a new rider, currently riding a 2005 a naked Suzuki SV650.
Even before I got my license and my bike, several motorcycles have captured my interest. The v7 Sport is one of them. The others are the Royal Enfield Interceptor 650 and the Honda CB1000F (yes, its already being sold where I live). I know these are somewhat different bikes, especially the Honda, but Im mentioning them just for context. Im interested in a retro styled machine, and Im leaning towards one that is actually retro feeling too - like the MG and RE. The honda covers the styling part which I absolutely love and provides more than enough power, but not so much of the feeling. My questions here will be mostly about the v7.
What I will be using the bike for in order of frequency:
- Fun weekend rides on twisty roads
- Longer trips over 2-3 days on backroads and some highways
- Commuting around the city
- longer highway only rides 400+ km in one direction
I plan to do at least one test ride, but I would like to hear from actual owners too.
The goal is long term ownership, not just to ride it for a year or two and flip it.
So first things first - my biggest concern is power. I dont want to be a speed demon, I want to comfortably cruise at 120-130 km/h and be able to relatively easily accelerate to about 160km/h when passing on the highways. Those may seem like some weird numbers, they are not the speed limits here but what the actual flow of traffic demands.
Another important thing is initial acceleration - at traffic lights its important to always get the jump on cars here, even the more powerfull ones. The SV650 (about 73hp) has no problems with that and I would expect the v7 sport to be just as good. However I notice in some tests that its 0-100km/h is rather leisurly at about 6 seconds which is actually much slower than the sv and even my car. What am I to expect here? This would be even bigger problem with thr RE which is my biggest concern for it too.
What about lane filtering in city traffic? The engine is wider, but it does not seem wider than the handle bars? My guess is it should not be an issue.
Another thing is reliability and availability of aftermarket parts and relatively ok prices. I have read varied opinions about the 850 reliability - some claim its practically eternal with normal maintenance, some mention oil consumption problems from the very start and bad warranty service. I dont mind an occasional issue or to even fix things myself but I dont want to buy a problem. I want a bike to ride, ride and ride some more.
Also, here I suspect the RE Interceptor will have a big advantage - aftermarket parts. Im talking exhausts, suspension upgrades, tail tidy etc. How is the market for those? What can I expect the general parts availability from Moto Guzzi to be years down the line? I remember having to pay 300 euro for a blinker hausing on my Alfa Romeo, cause the part was not available from Alfa anymore (for a 11 year old car) and therefore the secondary market prices were insane.
Thank you for taking the time to read through my small novel. I would love to hear your opinions and tips on the matter! If you have tested or even have one of the other bikes and can do some comparisons that would be absolutley great too!
