Good deal?

For sale near me. What are your thoughts about this bike and whether you would be tempted to buy it. I’m considering pulling the trigger on it.

“2007 Moto Guzzi Griso 1100. Black. 31.5K miles. One owner. Excellent condition. Never crashed. Always garaged. Good tires.
Still listed? Still available! Cash. No trades.
Selling because I am getting too old for it though I still ride it often.
Rear linkage disassembled, rebuilt and lubed properly.
Waterproofed dash (using a conformal PCB coating).
Two-valve per cylinder model, so no camshaft coating issue.

The following electrical additions, all fed from a new 15A fused and sheathed circuit to a Fuzeblock distributor (see underseat photo):
-- Rostra electronic cruise control
-- small fan to feed dry air to the dash
-- USB socket near handlebar
-- Gorilla theft alarm.
All electrical work done to a high standard. Detailed documentation of the installation of the first two items is available online.

Also included: Guzzi flyscreen; Guzzi magnetic tank bag and harness; acrylic rock shield on the headlamp; Pyramid Fenda Extenda.”

2016 V-Strom 1000 Tall Rider Windshield

6’5” with a Puig Touring Windshield and my head is getting shattered by the wind. Considering the V Stream ( headquarters are a half hour from work).

What works for you tall riders?

Clutch basket part info for 2016 V-Strom 1000

I’m getting mixed messages from parts suppliers about which clutch basket will work on my 1000. Has anyone replaced it with Suzuki Genuine OEM Primary Driven Gear Assy 21200-31Y20 V-Strom 1050XT DL1050R?

Tires

My 1000 has Bridgestone Trail Wing tires with a lot of life still in them. I’m mostly riding on the street. Are the Bridgestones grippy enough in the wet and when the temp drops below 50 F? I have had Michelin 6s on another bike and liked the performance. Thinking about switching to Michelins on the 1000.

2015 Versys 650 Engine Sound

Fairly new to motorcycles. I recently purchased a 2015 Versys 650 with 10,300 miles. Previous owner followed the maintenance schedule and took good care of the bike. Does the engine sound normal? If you turn up the volume and listen closely, there seems to be a little higher pitch noise, and it seems to be a little more prominent as I’m cruising at lower speeds. I had it at a local motorcycle mechanic for a going over, and besides tightening and lubing the chain, he said everything else was in excellent shape.

2016 V-Strom 1000

Looking at a 2016 V-Strom 1000 that has 22,000 miles and seems like it’s been well cared for. It had the valve check as per the maintenance schedule has newer tires has a new battery. it also had the fork seals, redone, and new fork fluid put in. anything I should be looking out for and what would be a fair price?

Newer rider - 60 mph feels scary

Anyone else deal with being scared to go 60+? I have a 2015 Versys 650 with panniers, etc. I’m 6’5” and 250 lbs so my head is above the windscreen. I get blown around pretty good, especially by opposite traffic. I had new fork springs installed and new fluid and seals. Back shock is adjusted for my weight. Any advice would be helpful. This is mainly an issue on two lane country roads.

2015 Versys 650 Windscreen

Anyone replaced the original windscreen with a taller one? I’m 6’5” and the original doesn’t seem to cut it for me.

Vibration - GTS Rally XL

I just got a rally XL and have put about 50 miles on it and there seems to be a vibration once you get past 13 mph. It’s not bad enough where it makes the board wobbly but it seems like the tire could be out of round or something like that. I contacted FM and they recommended getting about 100 miles in the tire and it should smooth out. Anyone else have this issue with the XL? it’s a similar feeling to when your car tire is slightly out of balance.

Heel Lift

What's the secret to mastering this? During long rides, my foot/ankle seem to tighten up and it's hard to lift my heel. I ride with the single area footpad option.
