New brain bucket. AGV Pista
Just got it today. Fantastic fit. The materials inside are top notch. Little bit of wind noise on the freeway but I may have to get better earplugs. If you’re wondering where the spoiler is , It cracked right down the middle. It lasted one ride. I stopped to get a coffee and i noticed it was cracked and about to fall off. So I took it off and it went right into the garbage 🗑️. And I’m not paying another $130 for another flimsy piece of junk.
Other than that, if you’re thinking about making the jump and if you can afford it, i recommend you should.
Is this jacket too big?
Just recently purchased this Rumbler jacket from Black Pup Moto in Australia in a size small. It’s an excellent jacket, well made, quality thick leather, looks awesome, but even as a small it feels too large for me being 175cm and 65kg.
There is quite a bit of spare room around my waist and chest and the sleeves are about 20-30mm longer than I would like. Having the cuffs zipped up keeps the sleeves in a reasonable position but there’s constant downward pressure on my wrists thanks to the stiff leather and it messes up my gloves when riding (though I don’t have gauntlet style gloves). Unzipping the cuffs they drop down to my knuckles. There is also a lot of excess room in the upper arm/shoulder, plenty of room for my biceps to grow 2 times their diameter (if only).
Unfortunately this is the smallest size they make this jacket, but I’m thinking I’ll probably have to return it. Though maybe I’m just being too pedantic?
I’m hoping I’ll have better luck with a Merlin Miller, Hixon II, or Stockton in a size 38. If anyone has any of these jackets and is on the slim size, how is the fit?
I’m leaning toward the Miller but concerned about the perforated arms in winter or if caught in the rain, though it would be perfect through the warmer months. Otherwise maybe the Hixon but it looks to have a boxier fit (I don’t have the broadest shoulders so might not work well for me) and stiffer leather from the promotional photos, but maybe not? The Stockton would also be great but I don’t like the look of it as much.
Any input is much appreciated!
Strada 3 Forged Carbon LE
Sedici just dropped their new limited edition strada 3 (2000 units) and I'm strongly considering buying it as a second helmet. I already have a rf 1400.
What do you guys think of the helmet? Anyone that has a strada 3 care to share their thoughts? What do we think of the combo with my bike?
Trying to identify this Bell helmet!
My wife started learning to ride with this older Bell and is now looking for a tinted visor, but I can’t find a model number listed anywhere. I’m hoping someone here can help give some guidance on what this could be. Thank you!
Dropped my bike for the first time
TL;DR: Was going slow, went down. Armor took no damage except for a glove. Knee pad scraped my knee and leg up pretty good; knee severely injured. Currently waiting on radiology results. Without suit, knee would be broken, and upper/lower limbs would likely be covered in road rash. I rode myself to the hospital. All in, a good day.
First off, thanks u/crusaderkingo for inviting me here. If he had not, I would never have purchased my Teknic track suit, which saved my skin today.
Secondly, I was rounding a curve today, in the rain, doing about 20 mph, when my front wheel hit a patch of oil from the dump trucks. Whoop, the bike fell to its side, threw me off, and then proceeded to ride off into the sunset without me, before planting itself into a ditch about 70 feet down the road.
As for me, my right palm hit the ground first, digging some nice groves into the leather glove. After landing, I somehow spun around, sliding sideways on my back. It was at this moment I knew, I fu... was going to hit the guardrail. So in that split second, I silently hoped it wouldn't be my back that was broken.
Turns out, it was my left knee. The guardrail did not penetrate my gear. In fact, the leather suit took no abrasions whatsoever, owing to the fact I had a rain suit on, which also didn't tear. I'm lucky to have been going so slow. I didn't get any pictures of the wreck. My main goal was to get the bike out of the ditch and ride away before any troopers showed up to ask ten million questions. A kind-hearted fireman and several other dudes all piles out of their cars and helped me to drag the 900lbs behemoth out of the ditch, and send me on my way. I'll post a picture of the glove later. It was the only piece that took damage.
Right now, my knee hurts too much to stand on or bend. I'm in the emergency department getting images taken. Will make second post later.
Visor drops down too low when going at high speeds
When going at 120+ my visor or just helmet in general tends to get pushed down by the wind to the point where I can barely see the road, I ride a ZX6R and I find it way more comfortable to tuck at higher speeds but yeah as said I can't see shit when I do. Does this mean my helmet is too big or something? Should I get a bigger windscreen? It has a snug fit and my cheeks are so pressed up I can barely talk in it.
Helmet is K1S .
Any advice is appreciated.
Best budget boots for track?
Multiple reasons here but the thing is when knee dragging I end dragging too the top of the boot. Its a mix of the pegs position, my own height and the feet position.
The thing is my current smx are very well worn and need replacement. But in case I cant 100% avoid dragging them I dont want to expend hundreds knowing they wont last much.
Any good recommendation for track boots? Ive been looking around but even the smx I have are now over 250 often which is crazy thinking I got them for around 150 years ago.
Thanks in advance everyone! Will love to read any feedback you have
petite women's gear
Hello! I am looking for summer women's gear (jacket, pants) for petite women (150 cm, 45 kg), which also have AAA rating and CE2 preferably.
I recently bought pando stealth xs jacket and it is too big (the shoulders, elbows protectors move around). I'm also thinking as last resort of buying a body with protectors to stay better in place and a jacket over it. I kept searching, however the options I found were very limited.
Any thoughts and recommendations are very very welcome. Also any design, color is fine I'm only interested in its protection and to be wearable in the summer.
Bought a new motorcycle
What do y'all think bout it? I am 19 and finally saved up for it
Helmet size comparison
I'm having a really difficult time finding the right size/shape for my noggin. I'd have to drive about an hour to get to a Cycle Gear to try on helmets, so asking here.
My first helmet was an HJC i10 in XL. It felt too tight, but everyone says they wear-in after a while so to be patient. Unfortunately, didn't get better over time. I did try to replace the cheek pads with thinner ones and that helped a little, but not enough.
I then ordered an AGV K1 (I believe) in XXL and that felt even tighter than the HJC in XL.
I've now been using an HJC i10 in XXL for about a year (so I could recycle my pinlock insert from my previous helmet) and it still gives me a hot spot on my forehead even after shorter rides.
It appears that I might have a long oval head and the only helmets I can find that fit that shape are Arai and Icon.
I wouldn't mind spending more on Arai, but I've seen posts about how they are sized a bit smaller than some other brands and all I can find are XXL's.
I do not like the style of the Icon helmets at all. They look way too futuristic and spacey to me.
Anyone got any experience switching to Arai from HJC with their relative sizing differences? Anyone know any other brands of helmets that fit long oval enormous heads like mine?
Here's Something To Watch For All Of You Considering No-Name Leathers and Other Riding Gear
tl;dr: No, the stuff doesn't meet current safety standards at all.
Now watch the video and learn something:
Shoei RF-1400 leaks air through chin. Help!
Hi all, I have a Shoei RF-1400 Beaut. I noticed that air leaks inside the helmet from the chin area and so much so that my eyes turn red. All vents are closed. I even checked the visor fitting with a small card and air seal is perfect. When I cover my chin area with hand, i notice less air. This is even after installing the factory chin curtain. Has anyone found a thicker chin curtain or an aftermarket version? Balaclava is an option but that is another piece of gear I need to incorporate in my getting ready routine. So, looking for alternatives
I ride a Yamaha MT-10 SP which has fairly upright position with no windshield.
Shoei Neotec 3
Bought a new helmet Neotec 3 with a Cardo 4X-S daughter got me a Brake Free light. It was painful to put it on a brand new helmet. But I promised my kids I would be safe as possible. I was almost rear ended at a res light. That's when my daughter got me it. If it helps a little its worth it. Coming from a AGV K6 its going to take a little to get used to the extra weight od the new helmet.
Quadlock damage your phone camera?
I was interested in buying a quadlock mount for my phone, but i’ve heard horror stories about people camera getting damaged even with the vibration dampener. I couldn’t find any recent information on it so I wanted to see if that is still the case. I have a 2017 SV650 and an IPhone 17 pro.
Helmet fitment
Having a great deal of trouble finding a fitting helmet. I tried on every single one in cycle gear and the shoeis felt the best by a lot. Just have questions to whether this one fits good enough.
I tried the small on and my nose hit the chin bar lol (big nose 😂)
Hi everyone just wiped out on my Suzuki gsxs125 can someone criticise me please and tell me what went wrong
Just got my A2 licence and don't want this to happen on a bigger bike
Found a perfect bench to support my weight! Also, ATGATT!
Hot weather gear!! What works the best while maintaining safety? Brands? Models?
I sweat a lot. Like all the time. I'm always hot. I really hate when it starts getting hot out and I want to ride. I imagine it's time to get some different gear.
What works for you? Saw the guy with no shirt and a beanie. No thanks.
