Sometimes trying is all you can do. Mom was wearing baby unsafely but wasn’t receptive and that’s ok.

Welp just as the title says, I saw a mom wearing one of those Mabe baby carriers with a young infant and the foldable flap fully over the baby’s head. The infant is probably a few weeks old. First time I’ve ever had the guts to approach. I see terrible baby wearing at every turn. I gently tried to let her know about safe baby wearing practices but she thought the flap was built to cover baby from the sun. I left it at that because new moms have enough shit to deal with. But you never know, maybe she’ll go home and look into it. Maybe not. But I’m happy I had the confidence to try. I complimented mom and baby and that’s that.

It’s not perfect and I still have a ways to go (mulching, edging). I can’t believe how big that Agastache has gotten. Some of the salvia in the front is getting leggy but other than that I’m happy with it. Going to replace the Mexican Heather annuals (I didn’t know 😒) with coral berry bushes in the fall. I do hope these fill out a little more next season. Cheers to more native plant sales and solidifying myself as the neighborhood crazy garden lady!

Using corrugated cardboard and a few boxes I’ve covered a few large portions of my yard in an attempt to plant more natives and a few well adapted plants. Some areas of my lawn have been cleared of lawn already by colorization but I’m hoping to be able to plant directly over lawn using cardboard to suppress grass instead. Let’s see! Looking into chip drop after rain clears up in my area.
