Artipoppe - worth it?

To preface, I cannot afford an Artipoppe carrier, so this is more out of curiosity because they are all over my social media. I see so many influencers and commenters talking about how the Artipoppe carriers are the best, but I know that brands often pay these influencers and commenters to say these things. I want to hear from real people who have actually tried the carrier - is it worth all the hype??

Ergobaby Embrace Fit check

FTM and first time baby wearing. My baby is almost 4 weeks old and almost 9 pounds. Let me know if you think she’s fitting properly or not!!!

Is it worth getting into babywearing at this point and if so what style of carrier should I try?

I have a 10 month old.

I was interested in baby-wearing before she was born, but never really confident enough to follow through. I was just starting to try a stretchy wrap with her when she was diagnosed with hip dysplasia, and I wasn't able to make it work with her in a Pavlik harness. By the time she was done with her treatment, I was already used to just using the pram.

I do have a hand-me-down Ergo Omni Breeze that I've used occasionally. I don't think I've got the fit quite right, but it's been okay when I need to carry my baby somewhere that's not pram-accessible, like the beach or my friend's place that's up a long flight of steps. It's no quicker, though, than just getting out the pram (the pram I have is light and easy to fold/unfold), so I mostly use the pram even for short outings.

My daughter is getting heavier, though, and is insatiably curious about everything. I find myself wondering if it would be useful to get e.g. a ring sling for quick up and downs. But I'm also not sure if it would be worth the cost, since my baby is already getting older and when I already have a good carrier that I could just learn to use better.

I'd be interested in any advice people have!

Baby hates Ergo Embrace!

Can I please get a fit check? Baby is 11 weeks old and about 11 or 12lbs. He cries and fights for his life to get out of the carrier when awake. I have tried to get a deep comfortable seat for him and pelvic tilt. I worry about it being too tight but if it's too loose it's deeply uncomfortable and also not secure.

I will add, he has tummy issues and a lot of gas and reflux. Could this be causing a problem and I just have to accept he now hates being worn?

I also have Solly which he loved as a newborn and then at about 6 weeks started crying and fighting to get out of that too!

Help with Meh Dai

After 15 mins of wiggling and soothing this is how we ended up but i know it’s not safe given how covered is face is.

Looking from some insight on how this happened and how to prevent the shoulder straps from riding up like this but also…how do I start with him settled into this position given this is how he’s comfortable?

Hope that makes sense… Open to any other feedback as well.

Also I know I can do a fit check with Hope and Plum but wanted to get some immediate input from the community.

First attempts at woven- omg so much fabric to knot?!

I am so glad to have warmed up to woven wraps with half buckles and I think I am going to stay a half buckles girl. But I don’t hate the woven wrap idea…but omg, is it always this much fabric to knot?!????

I am trying a size 5 from my local lending library and maybe it is one size too small for me as I am reaching the ends. Happy for fitcheck.

Tightening the neck area is the hardest but I assume I’ll get the hang of it with practice. Right now I do feel better with holding his head as he still doesn’t have neck control yet. But I imagine if I tightened the top rows more I wouldn’t have to?

Are there other carries I can try with this length and my 3mo very cooperative boi while I have this wrap?

I don’t know the gsm with this fabric, just little frog cotton something..if I do want to buy a woven just to have and play with, what do people recommend?

Solly Baby Wrap - Fit Check?

Brand new at this! Trying to follow TICKS... does this look good? I can't tell if her chin is too close to her chest / back is supported well enough. It's not on her chest, but she's definitely leaning forward, and there's a tiny bit of give if I press her against me, but I'm not sure I can still get her in there if I wrap any tighter!

Fit check for new carrier after many of you pointed out that my last one was unsafe for the baby. Thank you!!! On this one baby cried but then fell asleep in 5 minutes. I’m so relieved. THANK YOU to this beautiful community. I hope this is now right?

Carrier for 9 months old, 9Kg

Hi everyone,

Do you have any advice for a sling/carrier for 9Kg+ baby?

I used a stretchy sling when she was smaller and I loved it. Now I have a koala cuddle band 2.0 that is supposed to last up to 15Kg, but I find it really uncomfortable around my neck and shoulders. I have an ergobaby too but finding the waist band uncomfortable on my abdomen and in general I would prefer something less complex that I could just wear all the time and just put baby in and out when needed.

I tried a woven wrap that a friend lent me but I found it difficult to adjust on the baby.

I am looking for something that could be used for quick transfers (for example on the tube when I need to fold the buggy or at the airport when travelling) and something that I could use for contact naps too (on the plane or at home when being fussy and wanting cuddles).

All my friends stopped carrying their baby very early and they are saying I will break my back etc, but I can still see many mums carrying older baby so there must be a way, no? My baby had always loved being carried and we are going through a difficult phase (not sure if it separation anxiety or what) so I feel start carrying her again would help.

I have an appointment at a sling library next week as well to see what they have available.

Stretchy wrap with minimal fabric?

Hi all, apologies if this has been asked before. I am due with baby no.2 and had two hand me down stretchy boba wraps with my first baby that I just couldn’t get on with. They had way way too much fabric, I felt suffocated in the summer heat and baby kept slipping out of position, despite being a very small 6lbs. Now, they were used by my SIL with her massive baby up until I think a year or so old?? So maybe they lost elasticity and if I bought new I wouldn’t have that issue?

Is there such a thing as a stretchy wrap with less fabric? Or would a woven wrap be better? Or anything else I should consider? I couldn’t find a suitable structured carrier for those first couple of months with baby being so small and I’m expecting that baby no.2 might be a similar size. Pic included, please don’t judge I know it’s not the right positioning, taken before I discovered groups like this!!

I’m in the UK if that makes a difference

Is there a hiking backpack with an ergonomic seat?

I got my husband a MEC hiking backpack (secondhand) for his birthday and he really likes it, and my son (14 months) seemed comfortable in it when he tried it on, but I just noticed that the seat is basically just like a jolly jumper seat and doesn’t look very ergonomic? Like he’s basically dangling by his crotch?

Is this just how these hiking backpack carriers are or is there one out there with a more hammock-like seat like you would get from a wrap or regular carrier? It’s not like we’re hiking every weekend but I would like him to be comfortable on a longer hike if needed.

For fun: what’s the worst carrier you’ve had to politely talk a friend out of buying

I just offered to give a pregnant friend some suggestions and they told me someone recommended the Armadillo Bumpsuit.

This friend is a Southern California born and bred, tall blonde dancer turned Pilates instructor. She oozes grace and style (and money…). I cannot imagine her with something as horribly inelegant as that pile of overpriced synthetic junk!

I was very proud of myself for politely saying hmm haven’t tried but not something that I would spend that much on blah. I got to rec the SB Scout bc they are the rare folks who actually have that kind of money to blow.

So, in the spirit of good fun and a change of pace around here, what’s the worst carrier you’ve ever had to kindly steer someone away from?

Torticollis

My 3 mo old has been diagnosed with Torticollis and we’ve had our first PT appointment. We’re doing the recommended stretches at home however, I’m at a loss of what positions she can be in throughout the day. At 3 months, she’s too young to sit, it’s not recommended to have her lay on her back during the day, and I can’t hold her the entire day. We’re working on tummy time but can only stay for 5 min sessions before she becomes frustrated and cries.
Any recommendations or advice would be greatly appreciated.

Alt/Halloween-inspired designs?

Despite the heatwave, fall is right around the corner, and I have Halloween on my mind! 👻
My style has always leaned more alternative and witchy, and I’m curious to know if any brands come out with more Halloween-inspired designs for the fall. I saw Hope & Plum recently came out with their Hemlock pattern, and Artipoppe has their Angels and Demons design.

Best for world facing?

My baby is only 10lbs at 3 months old so I know she’s small for world facing, but she has great head control. She hates facing inward and all walks that start in the stroller or our ergo embrace quickly end up with my husband or me holding her outward facing, her favorite position. Are there any good world facing carriers out there that dont have too high of a panel?

Fit check

Baby is 3.96kg, 3 weeks. Moby wrap, first time baby carrying.

Not sure if the head should be "side wrapped" like in the first photo or the head should just be free.

Should the feet be within the fabric that goes across the chest?

Do the legs look "m" enough?

Is the back "c" enough?

Is the wrap tight enough? It feels pretty taut.

Airway looks clear
