First attempts at woven- omg so much fabric to knot?!

First attempts at woven- omg so much fabric to knot?!

I am so glad to have warmed up to woven wraps with half buckles and I think I am going to stay a half buckles girl. But I don’t hate the woven wrap idea…but omg, is it always this much fabric to knot?!????

I am trying a size 5 from my local lending library and maybe it is one size too small for me as I am reaching the ends. Happy for fitcheck.

Tightening the neck area is the hardest but I assume I’ll get the hang of it with practice. Right now I do feel better with holding his head as he still doesn’t have neck control yet. But I imagine if I tightened the top rows more I wouldn’t have to?

Are there other carries I can try with this length and my 3mo very cooperative boi while I have this wrap?

I don’t know the gsm with this fabric, just little frog cotton something..if I do want to buy a woven just to have and play with, what do people recommend?

When is my baby’s night time sleep actually?

FTM to 10 weeks old LO

I know baby is probably still at a stage that is going to fluctuate, and we have always just listened to his cues. Pattern slowly emerged that he seems to go to his night sleep around 9/930, so we started doing his night routine 8/830.

However, his last nap can sometimes end at 5 or 6, and it seems like a long time to be awake till 9 for a 10wo? Maybe not?

He starts getting tired at 7 and we have been trying to get a cat nap in around then so he is not overtired at 9, but it’s always high effort for low reward 😅 like a 30min cycle max. Yesterday was 15min. (With us trying for an hour)

So that last cat nap, is that meant to be his night sleep time? We usually can’t get him to do more activities those hours cuz he is so tired and fussy….should we be moving his night time routine before the 7/730 show? Or maybe someone has been in similar situation before and can tell me one day that will consolidate to a 8/8:30 sleep I would be happy 😭

Baby starts stiring around 6 (2 feeds before then with 4am on wards contact nap), and can be kept in bed maybe till 7(snacking on my boob). And I desperately need another nap then so in my head I almost count the 8am nap as his night sleep pt2 and nap with him, and don’t have breakfast till after. Then huge part of my day is gone 🤣 I need a bit more determined what is day and night for my own sanity.

🙏Thank you for any insights

First half buckle fit check please 🙏

Borrowed this Oscha Cairis from my local lending library and really want to love it. My first venture outside of traditional full buckle, and really do like the versatility. Figured out the newborn method for my tall 61cm/5.5kg 8wks long new born, and the head feels relatively safe enough. However, he is barely kissable. I cannot get enough fabric to come up to his neck, and I keep tightening the bit under my armpit it still won’t fit tighter :’) tips??

Not sure if it’s just not the right carrier for my body length and his or something

What worked for you to slow your fast let down?

Hi ftm of a 6wk old boy. I am currently ebf and am pretty sure I have oversupply, with how much spray I get repeatedly over short time. (How crazy are our spraying nipples?! I get four streams sometimes all shooting all over my baby’s face.) 😭 My poor baby cries so hard over the spray and I feel so bad. Some day time feeds can get so long because of this. Thankfully my evening feeds are short because somehow he is less alert and don’t fuss too much. My wrists are also hurting from trying to hold his frantic crying head.

- have tried block feeding with only 3 hours blocks on each breast, don’t think it did much. And realized I was sort of block feeding already when I did one breast each feed and the feeds were hours apart anyways.

-currently trying switching more frequently, or just the old school switching halfway and throwing any methods out the window; and see if a less full boob helps.

-I got mild mastitis earlier on and was told not to pump or Hakka as that can both increase my supply.

-I am never so full that I am uncomfortable, so I don’t hand express very often either. Mainly out of laziness, and I get so many let down, what is the point of just letting the first one pass…?

Do I just have to be patient and wait it out? Will my supply finally settle? But I heard my let down won’t necessarily always go away…

What are your experiences??
