Most of the characters are supposed to be in their early or mid 20's in the beginning of the show. Looking at the show from today's perspective, I feel like the characters seem so mature (maybe not always in their behaviors and relationships) and well-seasoned. Take someone like Jane for an example. Both her and the character that played her were in their early 20's. But had she existed today, people would have mistaken her for being in her 30's (maturity-wise). Think about it. Compare people in their early 20's today, to the characters on the show.
In terms of quality of the show. It could be regarding anything on the show.
I happened to completely miss your birthday so I wanted to wish you a happy belated one on here. You're such an inspiration to all of us women 🥰💕
I'm trying to see something. If we're being completely serious for a moment; do you feel like you have ever experienced heterophobia?
I see it time and time again in this sub regarding Heidi and it became especially prominent this past month under several posts about her new music. I can't believe the amount of hostility and tearing down of someone is being provoked in strangers by someone just living out their dream. I feel like there is so much projecting going on here. It takes a lot of guts to follow your dreams. So many people either have or have had dreams they're afraid of admitting even to the people closest to them. They haven't taken the leap because of fear of failure, judgement and/or alienation.
I feel like someone who is truly aligned with their values, authentically empowered, and living a positive and productive life, would not project this much judgement and negativity toward strangers for having committed the oh-so-awful crime of making songs and accompanying music videos.
And the constant nagging about her looking different from how she looked on season 1. News flash; people's appearances change. No one owes it to the public to look the same forever. She doesn't owe it to the public to look ANY KIND OF WAY. It's funny how the same people that critique the objectification of women and unhealthy beauty standards, are the ones talking about women's looks the most. Nearly every time her old photos are posted, her and everyone else is reminded of "how sad it is she doesn't look like she used to". It's been 16 YEARS. When are we going to let go of the fact that she got plastic surgery?
She only has one life to live. Why shouldn't she use the time she has on earth doing what sets her soul on fire? And thank God she did! She has created songs that served as the soundtracks to many days of my life (e.g. I'll Do It, Look How I'm Doin', etc.), racking up millions and millions of streams. I wish her much success.
