Teen Period Blood Smells AWFUL
I’d really like some advice please.
My 12 year olds period blood (she first started them 9
Months ago) smells horrendous. I can smell it through the house when she changes her pad and I can smell it off her by the end of the day. It’s unbearable.
It’s not fishy it’s more of a smell of … I don’t even know to be honest.
She’s not amazing at hygiene frustratingly but I am on her as much as I can be but she does change her pads every few hours as the bleeding is heavy
We’ve been to the docs twice and her bloods were “normal” other than low iron so given iron tablets which my daughter takes from time to time but I don’t think it’s the cause.
Does anyone know what it could be? I’m unsure of BV type as the smell is only when she’s on her period. I have tablets from my BV and I’m tempted to give her them to see if it helps as the doctors don’t seem to be helping when I’ve asked. I will go back with her though as it really can’t be healthy.
