One month in Cymbalta!

I’ve always been a grinder. Have 3 kids, a wife, a large mortgage, and I’m an entrepreneur and only breadwinner. Wake up, keep grinding, provide, no time for depression or “major anxiety”…. However I realize just how much I was depressed and anxious constantly now that I’ve been on cymbalta for a month (and busparone).

I have a very high stress job and young kids. Life is stressful. I used to drink bourbon every night for the last 5 years and haven’t taken a month off of drinking for probably a decade or more. This may not be a typical “benefit” but it allowed me to not “crave” alcohol. I’ve quit cold turkey since day one of taking this medicine. Never would have thought I’d be able to. I used to also “cope” daily by spending large amounts of money on credit cards all the time and it’s allowed me to have more responsible “coping”.

I had no idea what I’d been missing. The side effects for me have been relatively mild. Dry mouth, minor other side effects. I know for others, the side effects have been substantial so I’m thankful for that.

Thought I’d share how it has changed my life so far. I intend on staying sober and coping better with anxiety and depression. Good luck to all!
