I’m a bit nervous for my future as a social worker
Hi! This might be a question and a ‘rant’ in both but I want to see if anyone else feels / or has felt the same way.
I’m studying my BSW and I’m loving it :) so much so that some of my friends have decided to change their degrees to social work because of how I talk so highly about it. And don’t get me wrong I have been ecstatic about that because my friends would make awesome social workers. But my thing is, I’m a little nervous because I’ve been recently seeing a growth in people wanting to do social work and that’s incredible but I’m nervous that it might make the work field competitive (?) and that’s freaking me out for a future in the field I have adored.
I know it’s not the end of the world and it’s high demand but I guess my question is , can social work get really competitive like psychology , law ect?
I’m just a little nervous about job security!! Let me know if you’ve had other experiences similar!! :D I’d love to hope I’m not alone
