Query regarding HSA account

I started my HSA account at 37. Should I max it out each year?

I just want to know what happens to that money if all dont get used for medical bills? Like can you withdraw in future in retirement ? Is it a good idea? Or just put money only which I need.

My mindset have changed a little recently as my mom passed away at 68 due to breast caner. I feel if I keep putting money and dont end up using it that much? can i withdraw or can my kids withdraw after me?

Age 40 (earning 100k )

Started my 401k at 36.Get a good match from employer. So just have 100k in 401k .

Now slowly understating the investments so planing to put

10% in employee stock program

10% in SnP 500.

10% in 401k

Max $7500 in roth ira

Started contributed $1500 a year in HSA and $2000 a year to kids 529 plan.

Since I am starting out at 40. Do you think I should be more aggressive to investment since I started late. May be investing my savings as well

My husband is also 42 and started all this just now (I wish was more financially literate at young age)
