To the divorced dads of Reddit: I have split custody with my ex wife. We split everything equally for custody’s sake. Every other weekend is alternated and weekdays rotate with my work schedule. Our daughter isn’t in school and won’t be for a couple of years still.

She is now engaged and will be moving approx 3 hrs away in the somewhat near future.

My question is this: If your ex has moved to a new area, what were the legal mandates/consequences for her considering a split custody arrangement? I have no intention to move away from the area where the rest of our daughter’s family is, but this is of no concern to her at this point.

This is not a request for legal advice, more a poll for those experienced in this area. TIA to all!
