2023 Honda Passport Vibration / Shudder issue

Purchased a 2023 Passport 2 weeks ago with 40,000 km on it and CPO certified from a Honda dealer in Toronto. The car has been great! Except for the sudden shudder / vibration that has plagued the car the last few days.

I’ve put 1,000 km on it and now it will randomly shudder anywhere from 40 km/hour to 100 km/hour. Worth noting I can’t seem to replicate this at will. To fix it, I pull over, shut the car off, and it usually seems to go away. Thankfully, it hasn’t occurred on a major highway yet, but in one instance today, the shudder can only be described as violent. By violent, I mean the car was quite literally unsafe to drive.

Considering I spent $46,000 on a CPO certified Honda direct from a dealer, I’m quite disappointed.

Anyone else had this happen? Anyone figure out how to fix it?

I’ll be bringing this to a Honda dealer ASAP after today of course, but not to Toronto as I’m terrified to drive the car on the 401 after how horrific the vehicle shudder was last time.

One side note, I noticed a strong pull to the passenger side the day o picked it up (I live 2
Hours away and chocked it up to an alignment issue and just decided to get it fixed myself). Not sure yet if the alignment issue is related to the shudder…

Thanks in advance folks, if nothing else, hope this helps someone in the future make an informed decision when making a purchase of one of these cars.

I’ll update the thread as soon as I get a solution (or if I don’t).
