We finally got our '21 Touring out for a car camping trip. Taking into consideration my wife is not a huge fan of extended outdoor activities and we have a 3 yr old, I'd say it went pretty well. We used a full size trifold 4" foam mattress and it was comfortable for the family on a 2 night trip. A little folded at the wheel wells but nothing crazy. I'm 220lbs and 6'2" for context.
Whatever you got just get out there and create the memories and if you need some stuff just get it, doesn't have to be perfect. If it doesn't work return it and try something else til it sticks hahaha.
I’m a big fan of the passport, but in my top 10 reasons for wanted to move into one was the availability of the ventilated seats. I went and looked at a TSE this past week and was very underwhelmed by them. My husbands Silverado is also just ventilated, not true AC, and still blows them out of the water.
Is this a unique to this year issue? While I would prefer new, if for some reason other years had better I would be open to used. I also liked the pilot but again, was underwhelmed with that feature.
If not I really hope they improve them for 2027.
2019 owners. How is your air conditioning? 34,000 miles. Took it get serviced and look at air since it never really gets cold. $400 later for air conditioning service and no real change. Air on full blast front and back and I never feel cold or have to turn it down. Granted it’s pushing 100 here but even on cooler days it really doesn’t ever get cold. I open all windows and hatch as I walk to the car to vent it and all the tricks to get it to cool faster. Are you all having issues too? Thoughts?
Purchased a 2023 Passport 2 weeks ago with 40,000 km on it and CPO certified from a Honda dealer in Toronto. The car has been great! Except for the sudden shudder / vibration that has plagued the car the last few days.
I’ve put 1,000 km on it and now it will randomly shudder anywhere from 40 km/hour to 100 km/hour. Worth noting I can’t seem to replicate this at will. To fix it, I pull over, shut the car off, and it usually seems to go away. Thankfully, it hasn’t occurred on a major highway yet, but in one instance today, the shudder can only be described as violent. By violent, I mean the car was quite literally unsafe to drive.
Considering I spent $46,000 on a CPO certified Honda direct from a dealer, I’m quite disappointed.
Anyone else had this happen? Anyone figure out how to fix it?
I’ll be bringing this to a Honda dealer ASAP after today of course, but not to Toronto as I’m terrified to drive the car on the 401 after how horrific the vehicle shudder was last time.
One side note, I noticed a strong pull to the passenger side the day o picked it up (I live 2
Hours away and chocked it up to an alignment issue and just decided to get it fixed myself). Not sure yet if the alignment issue is related to the shudder…
Thanks in advance folks, if nothing else, hope this helps someone in the future make an informed decision when making a purchase of one of these cars.
I’ll update the thread as soon as I get a solution (or if I don’t).
I’ve been offered a 2026 Passport TSE 7.6% off MSRP (MSRP: $54,145, Selling Price: $50,020). Have any of you gotten a better deal on a 2026 Trailsport Elite?
I hit a pole in the parking garage the tail light is already on order. Tell me is the last pic going to fix the paint that chipped off. I know it looks like it chipped only in one spot but their is some divots in the paint where it’s not smooth.

Hello fellow Passport people.
🚙2026 Trailsport Elite Blackout
📍7,900 miles
The new Passport looks great, rides great, has good power, and I am a fan of the Honda brand. On paper it’s the perfect car for me.
However, there are a few issues that are making it really hard to like the car and any input from fellow Passport owners would be greatly appreciated.
From day one of ownership, there are 4 places in the car that rattle: Dash vent closest to drivers door, the known defroster rattle, glovebox / passenger side dashboard and back of the panoramic sun roof.
My dealer has been little to no help as they cannot replicate the issue. The noises seem to vary on road conditions, outside temperatures, interior temperature, and other factors so replicating on-demand has been a challenge. What else can I do about this if the dealer is not willing to help?
This seems to have gotten better as I put more miles on the car, but the 10 speed seems clumsy. Usually some sort of jolting occurs when shifting from 3rd into 4th or, on deceleration under 10mph. The transmission fluid level checks out and the dealer says it is working normally.
So far the car has been aligned twice at the dealer. Both times the front toe was out of alignment. I don’t off-road, hit large potholes or anything that would cause the alignment to be off. Also, the alignment issue seems more noticeable at speeds of 70mph +. About 2 degrees of right input is required to keep the car straight.
I’m sure this all seems super nit-picky, but I believe this is coming from my high expectations from Honda as I’ve owned Civics and CR-Vs in the past without any of these issues.
Any thoughts, comments, questions are welcome!
Hi, I have just test driven a 26 Passport RTL and Elite for the first time today. My history is I have driven a 2013 Honda CRV since 2012 and before that an Accord. I have always admired the Passport from just looking at it style and size wise, but had never driven one. I really imagined myself in a Passport at some point in the future.
I am currently in need of a vehicle as the CRV is having more problems than I can keep up with lately and am driving a rental this week. I truly think it is time to purchase a new vehicle and don't want to repair more at this point.
I have researched over and over and thought the Passport was going to be MY vehicle. I have read the posts on Reddit with interest and admired the pictures of the new vehicles posted and watched numerous Youtube video reviews. Yet, when I test drove the RTL and Elite today it just did not feel like anything I am used to really. It lurched while taking off on the road which seemed like a transmission that was not smooth, was really wide and felt somewhat bouncy like a truck. Is this common for larger SUV's? Has anyone felt this way on their initial test drive of the Passport? Maybe it is just what I am used to driving previously.
I don't know if I should give it a second try or just accept that maybe it is not for me. I would welcome your thoughts and input.
Green 26 touring edition. This would be the first mod. Ended up going with Honda crossbars and the Yakima supsawg. No complaints so far. Easy to use! Reasonably quiet and the boards do not move at all.
Just got my TS Touring (like Elite for Canadians) a week ago and loving it! Orange was my first choice but wanted the 2-tone brown interior which isn't available with orange in Canada.
Upgraded from a 2017 CRV which was great, but wanted something larger for camping and better for rough trailhead and camping roads. Immediately took it camping and got it real dirty.
Very impressed so far.
Just wanted to post this here for other 2026 Passport owners:
if you hate the idle stop feature that you have to disable, by pressing the button each time you start your vehicle(sometimes I would forget, and is frustrating.), try pressing and holding the button, you will hear a beep, then the idle stop notification will be disabled, notification will show on your dash.
When you are at a traffic light your passport will remain on, the auto off icon will show on the dash as being disabled. Even after turning the vehicle off for an extended period retains the setting thankfully.
Confirmed this a day ago, was still active after the passport sat in a parking spot all day. Dealership told me their was no way to disable the feature, luckily someone found it, and I stumbled across it in a random forum.
I have a new TSE with about 1250 miles on it and while I do really like the car I can't stand the transmission. I don't think I am alone on this front as I have read that many folks seem to have transmission issues on this car but I am just not sure if my car is like others or somehow worse.
Some trips are "ok" while others I feel every single downshift when I am coming to a stop. Sometimes those downshifts literally buck me in my seat. It's just not normal and I have never experienced this on any car I have driven or rented in the past. It's mostly downshifting but sometimes I get a laggy gear shift when accelerating as well
Again I have read other have issues but I was hoping it would get better as I got closer to 1500 miles but nothing so far
Does anybody think my fluid level could be low? What do I request/demand if I take it back to the dealership?
One owner bought new in October 2025. I have a 2019 Pilot - don't need a 3rd row. Little scared of first year gremlins
Went for a country drive today, filled up, reset mpg gauge and achieved this. Driving 55-65 really helps. This is with AC on, no eco
I’ve seen commercials and reviews with this thing raging over off-road trails and flying through the snow, so yesterday we decided to try driving it up to Slate Peak, the highest drivable point in Washington. The ranger warned us that a vehicle had just been recovered from the snow up there, but we had all day, and shovels.
We predug down what I thought would be enough to give us undercarriage clearance before heading through. Turns out, it wasn’t. The Passport stoped moving forward and all 4 tires dug in to the full extent of their suspension, leaving it just sitting on the body. This was a perfect opportunity to learn about vehicle recovery and an opportunity to see that my wife remains supportive and surprisingly pleasant and helpful after I do something that was clearly avoidable. (I will be paying for her next facial now).
Two hours of digging, using the jack on both sides, a lot of tree dragging, and a badly ripped pair of jeans and we got it free! Made it to the top! And then made it back down to part two of testing. The dirt road had a spot that was a bit of a “jump”. So we paused… discussed how they do it in the commercials.
I asked if she wanted to do it. She said no, you do it. Now I’m aware those are professionals on a closed course… but I guess you’ve gotta learn somehow. So we sent it. In real life it went nose down FAST. Something something takeoff angle/velocity/landing. We slid forward on the skid plate and recovery ring. I’m going to need to invest in some new plastic for the undercarriage but it otherwise survived. I was also put in charge of cleaning all the Quaker Oats that were blasted through the trunk area after the container hit the ceiling.
Overall a super fun day and we made it up to the top. The snow is all shoveled for others so they can do the same. We escaped with some cosmetic damage but as far as I can tell after looking over everything I didn’t bend or break anything important. I’m definitely going to put on the 1.5” lift kit when we get back for a bit more clearance.
If it weren’t for bad luck, I’d have no luck. How much do you think the repair will cost?
I’ve had my passport for about 2 months now…2 days ago my window frame/ trim started bubbling up and lifting.. went to Honda they replaced it today got it home at noon left for dinner at 4:30 and when we got back around 6 it was doing it again… anyone having this issue ?
