Magnetic Island solo trip
Planning to take a trip to Maggie for a few days. Travelling in a camper, but thinking to leave it in Tsv due to the price difference (over $100 to take on the ferry??) Went on the island last year with my family for a day and loved it, now back and want to spend a few days really slowing down and learning to live for the moment.
Some questions for you all.
Any of you had experience with the hostels? Which is best, pros and cons? It looks like there's three and they all kinda suck according to reviewers. I would like somewhere to charge my laptop and do some work in the evenings, and quiet rooms with clean beds where there won't be people shouting outside until midnight... that's all I really need.
Where to leave your car for free/safe? I've seen that the car parking next to the terminal is $8 a day, but if I'm there for a few, might prefer somewhere free that's safe. Any streets good for this? I left my car further west on the Strand for two weeks before and nothing happened to it. I have a steering lock.
Top recommended activities on the island? I'm sure hiking and swimming will keep me busy enough. I run on a pretty tight budget so won't be renting a car but if bicycles and kayaks are cheap would be down to do some of that as well.
