I recently picked up this Fenton Lotus Mist vase and noticed something unusual when testing it with UV lights.
Under a 395nm UV light, the entire vase glows a deep purple/violet. The glow appears to be coming from within the glass, not just reflecting off the surface. The thicker base glows the same as the rest of the vase.
Interestingly, it is much more noticeable under 395nm than 365nm.
The 395nm glow is very difficult to capture accurately in photos, the camera doesn’t really show how it looks in person, but I included the best pictures I could get.
I know this is not uranium glass, but I’m curious if anyone knows what causes this or if this is common with Lotus Mist/Fenton pieces. Has anyone else seen a Fenton piece react this way?
I paid $10 for the little dish (no lid unfortunately) and $40 for the bowl. How’d I do?

Hello everyone! I was at a glass expo recently and as I was leaving someone offered me 18 boxes of glass completely for free, this is 5 of those boxes. I know absolutely nothing about uranium glass so any information is appreciated! I’ll be going through the rest of the glass tomorrow and will post what else I find then!
My mom loves these vintage pie dishes that look like pies so when I saw one at the thrift store for $6 I had to buy it. My question is I’ve never seen one signed Dona (under the lemon) and can’t find any online with the same top piece. It doesn’t have any brand name on the back except a J3.
