1880s Census Help
Would love a second pair of eyes on this problem I'm having. I cant seem to find a specific family in the 1880s census. I know where they live during that year, thanks to a city directory. But would love to have the 1880s census too.
Location: Atchison, Kansas
Address: "n. s. Main, w. of 9th st."
Persons:
- Mother: Anna/Annie Underwood (might also be under Campbell). Born in North Carolina. All her children were born in Missouri. City Directory: "Underwood, Annie, wid. David, n. s. Main, w. of 9th st." The David here was David Campbell, died around 1871 (See edit note**).
- Thomas Underwood. Born ~1860, would be ~20 in 1880. City Directory Listing: "Underwood, Thomas F., boiler maker C. B. U. P. R. R., res. n. s. Main, w. of 9th st."
- Hevery/Henry Underwood. Born ~1862, would be ~18 in 1880. City Directory Listing: "Underwood, Henry H., laborer, res. n. s. Main, w. of 9th."
- William Underwood. Born ~1864, would be ~16 in 1880. I think I found him listed with a different family in the 1880s census as a "hired by" on a farm. City Directory Listing: "Underwood, William S., driver, n. s. Main, w. of 9th st."
- Eliza Underwood. Born ~1868, would be ~12 in 1880.

A commenter made me realize a mistake I made. I believe Anna had two husbands; David Underwood and Daniel Campbell. In my original post, I had confused the two names and assumed "David" was the Campbell husband. I'll admit, I have more research to do on this family in order to get everything straight. 😅
