Anatomy Scan = All Clear - But Measuring Ahead!?

Anatomy Scan = All Clear - But Measuring Ahead!?

Today we had our anatomy scan at 21 weeks, 3 days - all was great, all clear, what a relief. Interestingly, I am measuring 22 weeks, 1 day, so 5 days ahead - and they told me my due date is more of an "eviction notice." Basically that the latest I would deliver is my due date, which is December 26th.

Anyone have any thoughts on if they think I might be a week or two before that? Especially if we are measuring ahead at this stage? Just curious, I am not seeking medical opinions here, just curious what others' experiences have been! My current prediction is December 18th!

18 weeks and counting

Just wanted to share that I am nearing the halfway point and I am so grateful after a decade of trying, of loss, of divorce with my first husband, of hope with a new relationship and marriage, that this baby boy is coming around Christmas.

For anyone struggling today: it just takes one. I know that thought is so hard, but I am so grateful I didn't give up and even at my age (I am 40, almost 41) this feels so joyful and miraculous. Cannot wait to meet him in 5 months.

Hang in there! It really is worth it!

NIPT Results In, All Good!

Just wanted to share a bit of positive news - I am 12w+3d today, and got our NIPT results in - all was well with our 5AB euploid embryo. We also learned "it" is a HE - we are having a boy - which was what my intuition was this whole time (I live in a country where gender selection is not allowed, so we had to wait to find out like "normal" pregnancies, which while anxiety-inducing, is helping me transition into the rest of pregnancy and that feels nice).

I just wanted to share this as I know there are so many losses and heartbreaks we all endure and it feels so special to be on the cusp of the second trimester with great news all around, and I am 40 years old on my second IVF protocol. It really can happen!! From my first FET transfer on 4/9, to today, feeling relieved and settling in for ultrasounds once a month, which already feels weird (like what do you MEAN you don't need to see me every week??). I also have a good friend here going through it so I am trying to pass on the positivity, support, and everything I've learned from this helpful community. So grateful I found it!

NIPT Results Delayed - AGAIN!

https://preview.redd.it/eenl8lg7w86h1.png?width=1672&format=png&auto=webp&s=502d47f0a448d2f76add9acbe2ce04eff3316a98

First NIPT blood draw was 5/28... I got the call last week I did it a day too early, and did the redraw on 6/3... Now hearing the results are not back and "perhaps in late" which is Italian for, we don't know/could be anytime or end of the week... and I am finding it challenging continuing to be positive and patient... I just want to know everything is okay. The ease of knowing the last chromosome test is clear (we did PGT-A). I also am so curious if the baby is a boy or a girl, legally we don't get to know or choose, which I am more than fine with, and our first stomach sonogram Friday at 11 weeks our OB said she thinks it's a boy, which I was so excited with - but now I'm afraid if I get the call something's wrong, or it's a girl, I will have like disproportionate disappointment which is crazy, I would be happy with a girl too! I think the delay has made me crazy, has anyone else been in this boat?!

NIPT - Hurry Up & Wait!

Things have been going really well in my IVF experience... our first FET took, my transfer was April 9th, positive blood test April 20th, due date December 26th.

WELL I guess I need to fess up... I scheduled my NIPT for 10 weeks, 2 days, and then my clinic called me and said I could move it up, but I don't think the scheduler realized I was 10, I think they thought 11. I was all excited thinking I'd slide in there right at 10 weeks but technically I was 9 weeks 6 days... well the clinic sent my sample to the lab, and the lab rejected it and asked for a new sample saying it was too early by one day. They didn't even attempt to process it so I'm not sure if it was close in terms of fetal fraction or if policy directed them to just say "new sample".

I get this call at 10 weeks, 5 days, and now my results are delayed a week so I am really stressed and just KICKING myself for thinking I was lucky/clever and would get the results sooner and I could take a deep breath and now I feel like an idiot and also like I am being punished, I wasn't trying to break any rules, I figured it was a ballpark based on google but obviously I am not a doctor or a biologist. This all happened yesterday and today I have just felt so down on myself and even started to think I am selfish and ill equipped to be a mother. Is this not nuts?!

Has anyone experienced something similar (not my exact situation per se) where you just spiralled over something small that you did or didn't do that you felt you should have known better? UGH.

Update: Went for the 10 Week Scan!

9 weeks, 6 days

Update since my last post: my IVF clinic graciously let me come in for an almost-10 week scan yesterday (officially 10 weeks today!) since my new OB-GYN's first available is not until next Friday. It was just amazing - I got to see my baby moving his/her little hands, measurements were on track, and the heartbeat was still strong at 175.

I will say I'm glad I took the advice to go in for the scan, apparently the anxiety between appointments for those of us who do IVF and get used to all the monitoring, is completely normal! I also felt really reassured and less nervous for the new doctor... I think if I went next week having not had a scan for 3 weeks I would have felt so much anxiety. Now I feel more reassured, though of course it's just one day at a time!

Definitely would say if you're on the fence, just get the extra scan done!

NIPT Test 9 weeks, 5 days

Hi Everyone! Question about the NIPT test: did everyone else do it? I wasn't surprised that our clinic recommended it, but since we did PGT-A and had four normal embryos we aren't feeling stressed about the NIPT (yet). Anyway I did the blood test this morning, and I am 9 weeks, 5 days, and told one of my friends who acted shocked my doctors didn't wait until 10 weeks! I am 10 weeks on Saturday, is this bad? I am second guessing if I should have paid more attention when I asked the clinic for an appointment "in about three weeks" (which was at our last scan). We are on the early end, but should the results be accurate? Anyone else in this boat? I'm still feeling positive, I just got thrown off-center!

Anyone else graduate IVF and miss weekly appointments?

First let me say I know we've been super fortunate to graduate our IVF clinic with our first FET. My transfer was April 9th, positive HcG on April 20th, gestational sac confirmed at 5 weeks, 5 days, heartbeat confirmed at 6 weeks, 5 days, and growth + stronger heartbeat at 7 weeks, 6 days (so just a day shy of 8 weeks).

We "graduated" which was the best feeling, but our first scan at the regular obgyn is scheduled for 10 weeks, 6 days, which is almost 11 weeks, and 3 weeks without a scan! I feel fine (nauseous all day but that's normal) and I've been fortunate not to have any breakthrough bleeding or scares... I feel positive but also worried?? I miss the weekly appointments in a way, I am so used to them now that I reached out to my clinic to ask for a midway scan just to check.

Is this crazy? I'm not deeply worried I just feel like almost reckless by not going in and checking on the progression. My clinic said I could come this week, since my June 5th almost 11 week scan is still a ways away. Anyone else been in this position? What did you do?

IVF Graduation Today!!

7 weeks + 6 days scan today

We had the best news that I almost couldn't believe today - our last appointment at our IVF clinic following a positive 8 week scan! It was so hard to wait a week after our 7 week scan with the heartbeat, but all went perfectly. Today's numbers: heartbeat was 167, measurements were measuing 7 weeks 5 days (I am technically 7 weeks 6 days, so right on target). The yolk sac and gestational sac measurements were good and the placenta had formed which was crazy to see on the screen! This is a photo with the head, chest area, and legs starting to develop. It feels like it's really happening.

Any transfer twins from April 9th graduate this week? Our due date is December 26th! NIPT is next, at 10 weeks, but I feel less worried for this one since we did PGT-A and our full karotype mapping yielded zero matches for carriers. Anyone else having a hard time imagining not going in for weekly monitoring? I can't believe it!

Waiting Game

Hi everyone, looking for positive vibes... let me first say, I'm writing here as I know it's gone really well for us so far and that's not the case for everyone... but I have never gotten pregnant naturally and I think I am just so worried for "the other shoe to drop." Nothing's wrong!

Currently 7w3d with our first FET... I tested positive on at-home FRER with a vvvvf positive 4dp5dt, with a steadily darkening line. HcG beta was 673, doctor was thrilled. First scan 5w5d, gestational sac and yolk sac confirmed. Second scan 6w5d, measurements on track, fetal heartbeat strong - 122.

This Friday is our last scan before IVF graduation... just appreciate positive vibes and stories from others who have been at this point and also felt this anxiety but came out the other side!!

Update: We have a Heartbeat!!!

6 weeks, 5 days post day 5 embryo transfer

Thank you everyone for the positive vibes - we had a positive second scan at 6 weeks 5 days post day 5 transfer for a PGT embryo. I was so nervous before this scan even though everything has gone really well, it wasn't until I heard that heartbeat that it finally felt real. Measurements were great, heartrate was strong - 122!

Our first scan was 5 weeks, 5 days and that was for the gestational sac (center uterus, positive) and yolk sac (visible and clearly defined). Yesterday we also got measurements and I am measuring 6 weeks 3 days so very close to what my doctor suspected in terms of when the embryo implanted.

My pregnancy test was April 20th and HcG started at 673, in case anyone was curious. Final scan a week from today and then fingers crossed we graduate from our IVF clinic to the regular OBGYN!
