Prompt Party v1.4 now live!

Hi everyone!

A follow up from my previous post where I announced the launch of my newest improv based party game, Prompt Party! Think of it as a mashup between Make Some Noise and Quiplash!

I had a play test last week and got some great feedback from people in the group and everyone who messaged me, a lot of it centering around game flow and prompt submission. I've updated the game to flow in 3 distinct stages:

The biggest snag I found was people panicking trying to type out long, creative, or witty prompts, often resulting in typos and weird explanations. With the fill in the blank format you can still type your own answer, and there are quick select options if you can't think of anything on the spot. You get bonus points for typing your own answer rather than using the pre-filled ones. The same fill in the blank format is also present in "Show Mode."

Another piece of feedback was that the host and player screens felt too bland. The player screens were desperately missing something that fit the theme of the app, so adding some bouncing shapes brought a bit of whimsy to the experience.

One thing that came up during the play test was player disconnections. When I ran it, there was no code in place to handle disconnects and reconnects in scenarios where a player may have already submitted prompts or votes. In this new version, the game will no longer be held up by a disconnected player who hasn't submitted a prompt or vote.
