Theories on lore regarding Gizzverse 1 vs Gizzverse 2
I’ve had a lore theory for a while that some events that happen in Gizzverse 1 (Nonagon, FMB, Rats Nest, Poly, Fishies, MoTU, etc.) has to be repeated at some point and in some form in Gizzverse 2 (Petro, Silver Cord, B741, Phantom Island).
I’m largely basing this on the expedition to Polygondwanaland in the album Polygondwanaland, and this does rely on the interpretation that Polygondwanaland is an island that the crew of the expedition actually sailed to. Thinking about this event, what group ends up on a mysterious, unknown island (that wouldn’t be on any maps and would therefore be a “phantom island”)? The pilots from B741.
Initially the pilots were trying to go to Antarctica, but specifically crashed on a phantom island described as having a jungle. One of the few other places described as having a jungle is Polygondwanaland.
I believe that the reason why the pilots crashed on Phantom Island/Polygondwanaland is because the gizzverse needs certain events to happen that happened in Gizzverse 1. Granted, this also could just be the island.
Similarly, there’s the parallel between the Gamma-Knife wizards from Gizzverse 1 and the witches from Gizzverse 2. The wizards use magic to try and do something good (attain immortality), but end up unleashing a monstrous creature (the people vulture) and, by extension, the apocalypse (the door to hell). The witches use magic to try and do something good (stop the tornadoes), but end up unleashing a monstrous creature (The Dragon) and, by extension, the apocalypse (the word getting torched.)
But, you might say, the cat Beowulf caused the spell to go wrong! And to that I say, that was the universe! The cat did that because the universe/fate needed it to. Same goes for the pilot’s engine failure.
Something else interesting is that one of the pilots is also named Beowulf, so these two could be connected in a sense.

EDIT: I’m aware that the “lore” probably doesn’t exist. I’m also aware that many of the songs and albums have very personal meanings to the band, especially with Phantom Island and B741. This is really just stupid shit I think about to keep my brain busy.
