Coming back to drawing after almost 4 years

Coming back to drawing after almost 4 years and trying to build a semi-realistic manga style between anime and realism. I really like gritty expressive ink work like Vagabond.

I also prefer minimal tools instead of huge setups.

Main tools right now:

Lamy Safari medium nib

Pelikan 4001 ink

GraphGear 1000 .3mm

old Speedball holder with washi tape grip

I mostly draw on cheap notebook paper because I actually like the dry texture and shading.

Do you guys think a medium nib is enough for detailed semi-realistic manga art long term? Also open to artist/study recommendations for this kind of style.

I was thinking about this recently and honestly streaming changed some gaming communities WAY more than people realize.

Back then a lot of games felt more casual and random. People would just hop on after school, do dumb stuff, troll around and leave.

Now some communities feel like everyone is constantly:

trying to create clips

following meta builds

copying streamer personalities

acting like every match is ranked finals 😭

Even the way people talk in games changed because of streaming culture.

At the same time though, streaming also made some games bigger and more alive than they would’ve ever been otherwise.

So now I’m curious:

What game community do you think changed the MOST after streaming became mainstream?

And do you think it became better or worse?

Need a laptop for Bioinformatics + ML + Data Analytics — is Mac really worth the hype over Windows?

Hey everyone,

I’m studying something close to bioinformatics/computational biology, so my work is mostly:

•Python/R/SQL coding

•data analytics

•some ML

•datasets + research papers + too many tabs open 😭

•I’m stuck between a Windows laptop and a MacBook with a budget around $2500.

•Windows laptops now have:

•pretty good battery life

•USB-C/power bank charging

•better ports/upgradability

•stronger specs for the price

•But MacBooks still seem unbeatable for:

•battery life

•UNIX/macOS workflow

•stability

•thermals/noise

•overall research/dev experience

I’m not a hardcore gamer — I just want the machine that’ll make coding and research life easier for the next 4–5 years.

People working in bioinformatics/data science/ML:what would you actually choose today and why?

MacBook Pro/Air?ThinkPad/XPS/Zephyrus/etc.?

Is legion enough

Hey guys, I’m an ML & Data Informatics student and battery life matters a lot for me. I need around 6 hours on light usage for coding, browsing, notes, etc. Is a Legion with i7 10th gen good enough for that, or should I instead go for something like a Zephyrus G14 or a Framework laptop? Would love some honest user experience.
