Hi,

I'm having persistent CarPlay problems with my 2020 Jeep Grand Cherokee Limited and an iPhone 17 Pro.

Symptoms:

• CarPlay becomes very laggy (swiping between apps, Maps refresh, audio controls).
• Eventually CarPlay disconnects and the Uconnect screen reverts to the generic Jeep phone screen.
• Sometimes CarPlay won't launch at all and stays on the phone screen.
• I only use wired CarPlay (the phone is not paired via Bluetooth). Wireless is not available for this model year.

This all started after upgrading from an iPhone 14, which worked almost flawlessly.

Here's what I've already tried:

• Replaced the USB cable (Apple and Anker never worked reliably; a Beats cable worked for a few months before the problem returned).
• Cleaned and inspected the USB port and connections.
• Removed Waze and Google Maps, leaving only Apple Maps.
• Renamed the iPhone and reset the CarPlay connection.
• Deleted all phones/Bluetooth settings from the Jeep.
• Rebooted both the phone and the Uconnect system.
• Disabled Background App Refresh on the iPhone.

At this point I'm considering a wireless CarPlay adapter. Has anyone had success with one in a 2020 Grand Cherokee? If so, which adapter has been reliable? Reviews seem to be all over the place.

If you've experienced these same symptoms and found a permanent fix, I'd really appreciate hearing what worked.
