Really weird music thing
Our demo trailer:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lvbB2_1M2qI&list=PLnSMyJniFv2ma1aaNYv1XUe0VMh4RbJVx&index=1
...which Lottie painstakingly edited to match the music - 'The Machines Revolt', by Sunshine Music, which we licensed from PremiumBeat. She used the 60s version, but the full track is here if you're interested - I've been humming it all morning
https://www.premiumbeat.com/royalty-free-tracks/machines-revolt
But then our trailer got reposted by a bunch of trailer aggregator sites, lots (edit: some) of them using a totally different placeholder-sounding track. Search it, listen, you'll see what I mean.
Why? Maybe because we paid to license 'Revolt' for our own use, and the aggregators didn't? so if they reposted the original audio they'd get copyright flags from Youtube? but idk, this is new to me.
On the one hand fine also great, we've got a lot more views for our trailer. On the other hand UGH I now see people complaining we put crappy placeholder music in our trailer, and also the effect offendeth mine eye and mine ear.
It's no big deal, and nothing to be done except grumble on our subreddit and I spose ask you lot to mention this if anyone else thinks the music is bad.

(People ask - in fact I used to ask - why not use the game music for the trailer? I understand now it's because game music is very rarely written as a sixty-second cut with a build and a crescendo at 0:50!)
EDIT: u/systemchalk and u/Yithani below offer a persuasive hypothesis
Talking At Night
We have people here with closed beta keys already for Travelling - and it's only ten days until the demo is public anyway.
It is FINE and ENCOURAGED to talk about Travelling on this sub but there are HUGE SPOILERS about the game, as well as spoilers about events in previous games. So please spoiler tag it and be careful about visible post titles too.
NB we will be running future rounds of closed pre-release testing in the future - sign up if you're interested and haven't already! https://docs.google.com/forms/d/1q5yghvncgjzk-SzARJCFHksmGx8r4KVhOM7b4SUR_Ds
Another contextual outfit effect (nb: demo still coming 10th Aug!)

2026.7.f.36 - "LAST TRAIN OUT OF MILAN"
- IMPORTANT - NEXT WEEK'S BUILD ("NIGHT TRAIN TO ANTIBES") WILL INVALIDATE ALL SAVES CREATED EARLIER THAN "LAST TRAIN OUT OF MILAN"
- (honestly, if you've got an old save you should delete it anyway, it'll be full of nonsense)
- you could re-craft something by hitting CRAFT again once you'd COLLECTED. But you can't any more.
- fixed abandoned hold-to-activate button presses firing out of sheer excitement next time
- equipped items now say they're equipped so you don't think you've got a duplicate
- companion assistance tooltip shows negative modifiers as -N, not +-N. I mean there aren't any negative companion modifiers rn, but who knows what Corso will get up to?
- Inventory skill modifier totals correctly show skill + modifier, rather than implying a change to the base skill
- Nice little gradient on skill modifier totals to deal with the fact that all our skill names are mad long
- skill-bar number box autosizes to fit double digits and modifers; also modifiers size the font down a bit. Not interesting? look, try writing this stuff.
- can't start boarding the train, exit out of map, then find you've left the train. YOU GOTS TO STAY ON THE MAP UNTIL YOU GO
- redesigned one-shot text - the little one-off labels that you get when you click things and don't start a full convo
- many many ordering fixes to what Lottie and I call the 'Wall of Miserable Hell With That Fecking Flowers Painting On It, Fecking'
- Spencer no longer climbs trees with helium abandon
- Leon is now visibly DangerLeon, so new players don't innocently run up to him like kittens running up to a grumpy wolf
- Janvier's mirror interaction no longer enables infinite Compassion
- all nostalgia memories now depart, with use, like trains or sunsets
- La plaque de la Rue de Racine a désormais des mots
"Items will no longer miaow when dragged to an active slot"

We've added an in-game bug reporting system to Travelling at Night. It's working in the closed beta now, and you'll see it in the demo soon.
We wanted unique report ids that were easy to remember. In a moment of mild whimsy, I used colour + flower.
Some of the resulting ids are I think rather gorgeous. pick your gorgeous-est in comments.

SHOES!
testing a bit of refactoring work, and the test suite was rendered even less coherent because we'd removed the Monk Shoes from the game, and I'd replaced the item on the test branch with a bowl of kedgeree.
Lottie insisted I post this. Sorry.
