My OCD loves cleaning & reloading brass. I’m collecting thousands of fired brass just to clean and sort headstamps. The process is meticulous and organized, but the chronograph tells the truth. Ammo worries gone, components fright is here. Seriously, first month of reloading has been is awesome.
The Apex 10 came with a large & small diameter tube and adapter to process different calibers. I installed the small tube & adapter to run 9mm but I’m getting a hang up maybe once every 100 rounds where the spring tube meets the clear adapter tube highlight in the photo. Any Mark 7 owners experience this and have any solutions. I was thinking of possibly changing the clear adapter tube that attaches to the press with the larger diameter one but not sure if that will cause new issues. The jam is easy to clear with a tap from the hand but gets annoying having to constantly monitor. I appreciate any suggestions.
Battery on the low primer sensor came loose from the contacts and I managed to drop 8 powder charges before I noticed I was out of primers. I tried to clean off all powder from the shell plate with a small brush and Q-tips but couldn’t get it all from all the crevices. After a quick Google search where 50% stated a vacuum was okay for ball smokeless powder and the other 50% said it was a no go, I decided to take my chances with an ultra fine HEPA filter. Worked great but I’m a rookie and still not sure if it was stupid
Just finished my first 3,000 rounds (RMR 147gr Heavy Match Winners - 3.4gr VihtaVuori N320). Looking for a new powder for RMR 124gr Match Winners. I have a lot of compensated pistols like the STI DVC Steel & other single comped 2011 pistols so I was thinking Winchester Autocomp or CFE Pistol but would like to be right on the edge of subsonic around 1,050 fps. Anyone with powder recommendations or load data would be greatly appreciated.
