Why did half of my rhodo die back?

I accidentally let my rhodo get too parched last summer before I noticed my drip line wasn't fully working. It looked ok (but not great) in the fall, but it has been really struggling this spring and has only gotten worse. Now it's at the point where I'm not sure if the left half can be saved.

Scratching the bark, there is still green on the branch. I have fertilized and tried amending the soil a few weeks ago but no improvements. I'm planning to wait for the right side to finish blooming before pruning back to any nodes I can find.

Any tips? Is this die back or should I spray for root fungus? Should I try amending to more acidic soil? Thanks!

Shark PowerDetect vs Dyson v8?

I bought a Bissell and don't care for it.. looking to swap for a better stick vacuum, as I HATE finagling cords. Both the Shark PowerDetect and Dyson v8 are about the same price right now. Any opinions from anyone who has used these?

My house is 1700sqft of hardwood floors and a few area rugs, so I'd like a stick vacuum.
