How strong are cap circumvention guardrails in the NFL?
In regards to the NBA finding no evidence of Ballmer circumventing the NBA cap by signing Kawhi to a lesser deal and supplementing the difference in sponsorships that didn't violate league rules, can NFL teams exploit cap circumvention rules?
I guess the biggest concern is that Aaron Donald would be a 27m cap hit this season if he were to return. Yadda-Yadda the cap isn't real, etc, could the Rams or Donald void/forfeit/terminate his current contract and re-sign with the team for a league minimum deal but sign a sponsorship with one of stan kroenke's many companies?
Do the rules specify if these advertisement/sponsorship deals be made in good faith?
