Food for BHU folks!
Starting with CHAI, at seer gate move towards chittupur gate there's a shop at the temple and you will see it will be very crowded it serves the best chai full of adrak and all too good to ignore.
The IIT cafeteria is fine.
Madhuban cafeteria is a little underrated, but the food is good.
Besides that, CPR Iyer's canteen is good.
Then Dalmia and Bhabha's canteens are also good.
If you want satvik food, go to Brocha.
If you want good food in a limited price go to the IIT hostel. The one in Vishwasriya might require entry, but they don't have that much restrictions
And outside. If you want non-vegetarian food, go to Hyderabad gate there's Nice Fast food.
If you want breakfast, go to BBC or just across the road from it, they serve good hing kachori.
Idly serves to the left at Chittupur Gate. If you go a little further from Bengali Wala, there's another one that serves good
And three places serve good sweets.
One is near Hyderabad Gate, Kavyanjali karke, then there's Banaras Sweet House in Nariya, and Siya Ram Dairy at Assi Ghat. Siya Ram Dairy's samosas are the best.
If you want to eat chaht, then Sanket Makhan If you move a little further from the front gate, there's a shop called Banarasi Chaat Shop. They serve very good chaht there, better than Deena and Ambani's.
And they serve good cake at Hyderabad Gate, or if you order online, VCD Bakers is good.
And if you want to eat ramen, you can get it at tao bao
And Triveni's canteen serves good chili potato. If you have contacts, you can order and eat it sometime.
That's all, it's everywhere... Okay, yes. Siya Ram Dairy's samosa is a must-try, it's recommended!
Adding to this, if you want to eat pizza, then exit Chittupur gate and go a little further on the left hand side. There is a small restaurant-type store called Capsic,. Their pizza is good. 80 rupees for 4 slices with great cheese pull, better than Domino's. If you want to order online, you can order a 99 square pizza. It's better locally.
Almost everything from Lanka's Capsicum is good, but there's no comparison to white sauce pasta.
If you want to eat ghewar, there is Rajasthan Sweet House, it's good in Lanka.
Vaishali's Jalebi is fine.
Aunty's Kachori is good. No, no, no.
Pehlwan Lassi's Lassi is just sweet and nothing else.
If you feel like drinking milk, Yadav ji's shop at Hyderabad Gate is good.
Burgers are not good anywhere except KFC, McDonald's, or Burger Kings.
Dosa is fine with VT.
Ananta Food Place at Hyderabad Gate serves good food. The price is better than capsicum and the quantity is also better.
And I will tell you the most hidden place, if you want to eat thali of roti, sabji, dal and rice, then take a left from Hyderabad gate till Tiraha, from there turn towards Sushwahi side, if you move a little further you will come across a shop of cafe, then you will come across e-rickshaw cafe kinda place, just next to it there's a couple of meals for 80 rupees, try their thali sometime. Their Aloo Paratha and Paneer Paratha are also good.
Momos at Xerox shop are good in Lanka. They have one next to the Radhe tea stall in Chittupur. And Kavyanjali wala has one at Hyderabad gate. Momos and Vada Pao are fine there.
Vada Pao is okayish almost everywhere. Kavyanjali wala is a little better. They sell Meetha Meetha in Chittupur.
Golgappa is quite controversial, but there's an uncle going from Nariya gate towards Lanka. His is good. It has a Bengali taste, so it tastes good.
BBC serves cutlets from 4 pm onwards. They serve them well. You can eat them.
Also, if you are going to any standard place do ask for discount as BHU student they have 5 to 10% discount for BHU students.
P.S. Pao Bhaji is sold in whole Banaras, but trust me, I have eaten it everywhere it is offered and it is useless everywhere, really please never ask for Pao Bhaji anywhere.
Will keep editing if found a better place or better offers.
