I’m curious whether I have some grounds for a partial compensation claim regarding a missed connecting flight.

Our flight from London to Reykjavik was delayed due to bad weather (ineligible for compensation, I know) and we were redirected to Akureyri airport. However, the delay was exacerbated by the fact we couldn’t leave the airplane for several hours as they had to call in border agents (hooray Brexit) and we didn’t leave the airport back to Reykjavik as we had to wait for a new flight crew to come in.

Is there a possibility to claim (partial) compensation for delays due to crew availability?
