You know, I’m disappointed &frustrated by the lack of design & the decision making process of those engineers who were tasked with the design and functionality of the Harman Kardon system.
It’s frustrating to have the Harman Kardon sound system that “lacks any PRESETS or save function” so at least you are able to have your own EQ profiles.
I know some say “get bemmer code” but that’s beside the point.
This is an equal i4 with M-Sport vs the i3 with M-Sport.
The i4 is superior in style, elegance, BMW DNA, hatchback space, interior, Inside layout, and relatively.
i3 has a better range, due to a larger, newer battery if your concern is going DC to NY etc… daily!

So BMW won’t give us red, instead, we get FLAMINGO 🦩
However, if a passenger opens the door while the car is on, that doors glows LIPSTICK RED.
Wish they add it… goes nice in sport mode.
I know this isn’t much but you can turn on your heated seat and staring by touching the steering on your display. 🤪
Also, INDIVIDUAL SETTINGS lets you choose upper body macro controls. Nice if you like your face cooler than your tummy!
If you have this pkg, run it while parked and then hit your cameras one by one and set it. Not so helpful but just an awesome thing to lQQk at.
I didn’t know the “shadow line” pkg adds so much to the i4, including the laser lights. This is my eye candy when I park at night. :)
If you are getting any 4-series, the pkg is well worth it.
Breaks & bedding-in
i4 relies heavily on regenerative & what forums, Google and A.I do not know is that to break in / bed in your breaks, you —must go past the regenerative-resistance point—
On either mode: adaptive, low, mid, high…
My image is taken on the B mode which is highest resistance. Once I go past that point on stopping, physical breaks engage.
Anyhow, this is only for those who want to bed in their breaks or have the M-sport, which has felt almost impossible to break in.

So as I continue on what I’ve learned & pass on:
. Use your widgets. You have two choices.
On iPhone (image 1) you can put 3 on the screen.
Use CarPlay to add : xMyBMW xEtc… xEtc…
. Also you can add widgets the BMW Home Screen too. (Image2) As you see, I have a split screen on left + BMWmap ON RIGHT.
. Also, you can change the BMW assist icon to the new funny face 🤪 one! LOL but sorry, I don’t recall how I did it 😜
I love my i4 and I’m committed to learning about it and passing what I’ve learned.
Let’s face it, you are sitting inside an operating system on wheels.
For today, Audio system:
. It’s easy to miss but you have an “experience sound” under your H.K system screen to visualize the surround. Set your sound and test it.
. Also, your Equalizer… do a search for your fav sound ( hip hop, dance, classical) and set your EQ. See my image for my prefs.
. For sound balance, move the your balance bar TOWARD THE REAR -2 (much more balanced sound)
