This show is not really 90's socially just has a lot of denim.
I just don't think it's 90's enough it feels very Gen z, without cell phones. It was a very difficult time to be different, rather that's gender, sexual orientation or race but they are portraying it like everyone is cool with everyone that's not even remotely how it was for ppl in school. Even in 90-00's movies they weren't afraid to show how bullying really was. Maybe the creators didn't want to go that hard into the racial and gender issues. Play it safe to get ppl from younger gens watching. So it's more like going to HS now and less like the anxiety of really being different back then. I think it's a Gen z show with denim and plaid and someone's bad 90's Spotify playlist. Also, I did watch it all, I don't believe in judging something that you don't see for yourself. At the end of it all I think nope try again in another 20yrs.
