I recently bought an Aprilia SportCity 125 liquid cooled with 30,000 kilometres on the clock. It’s my daily commute bike covering a 20-kilometre route and often carrying a total load of 120-200kg. The dashboard consistently reads 15V but an actual voltage meter shows 14.4-14.6. In cold weather (4-6°C) the bike is difficult to start. I need to perform a “priming” technique involving short cranks and throttle pumping. However, it starts smoothly once warmed up. Recently, the starter has begun “clicking” without cranking. I have to repeatedly press the button to get it to turn over. Furthermore, the scooter has become slower during acceleration (0-30 km/h) and more vibratory. A local mechanic suggested the starting problem is due to an old battery. and suggessts to change the spark plug i also insisted in a valve adjustment but the mechanic without opening the bike up or anything insisted that there is no need. what should i do? also is a 7ah battery good?
