An update on my free Grindr alternative and how much it's grown
I posted a few weeks ago about Easy, got a great response, and wanted to follow up with an update. Since my post here almost a month ago the user base of the app has increased over 20x. At one point the server crashed because it ran out of memory. That was a scary, but important growth experience. I'm a UX designer with a dev background so I'm learning a lot as I go.
I've made a lot of improvements over the last few weeks by adding new features and improving performance. Your feedback has been fantastic. I did a lot of research and planning before going into dev and it's great getting other POVs on what the app needs. Keep the suggestions coming and I'll take everything into consideration.
My goal with Easy is to make something that improves on the user experience of the large apps like Grindr. My biggest issue is the fact they all lock profiles and chat behind a paywall. It ruins the experience for all users, both free and paid.
