My cats good is up to $around $250 a month. Seeking alternatives

Please help. I'm overwhelmed and stressed out. Looking for food brand recommendations cheaper than $103 for 24x 5.5ox cans.

My kitty eats the science diet urinary care wet food and has been been for the last 10 years or so. He's a big boy, and while I used to get 24 cans for about $55, that's now sitting at a whopping $103.

He had a kidney incident about ten years ago (emergency vet) which is why he went on it and had crystal show up again maybe like 5 years ago?

He free feeds.

I tried to switch him to Purina which is the "stew" style and he was wolfing it down and screaming for more constantly. It didn't last long -i thought maybe I was paying just as much with how much was liquid?

He's now getting $220 worth of arthritis shots every month and I just can't afford $500 a month before regular vet visits and possible emergencies on a cat I hope lives years and years longer.

Sorry I'm rambling I'm just drowning in research and opinions and I'm hoping for the cheapest food I can feel comfortable giving him. I feel comfortable either switching off the urinary or to dry food but not both.

All my love in advance.
