With the holiday season fast approaching, will your headphones, portable boombox or portable DAC even make the grade while you bask in the sun's rays?

We all have a rough budget in mind when starting out, but the extras can add up quickly. Did your first 5.1 system end up costing about what you expected after doing some research, or was the final bill a bit of a shock?

Also, what year did you buy it? It'd be interesting to hear how much you spent at the time and whether you'd make the same choices again today.

Is the feature even relevant anymore since the WiiM, which does a better job wirelessly, and if not, what feature would you like to see return? Better pre-out options, better digital displays or something completely different?
