Upper level sq head unit?

Been playing the numbers game and want quality now.

Im seeking a top notch (CLEAN) head unit.

Will be running JL dsp and amps so the head unit doesn't have to have a high output signal or extreme eq..

Just super clean..

Recommendations?

need box dimensions

I plan on making a custom box for a sundown xv.3 15 i’m pretty new to audio and subs but i know general terminology. The box will go in the back seat of my 08 gmc sierra im taking out the small seat and just gonna put it on the floor so the size isn’t really an issue. i want something that will hit hard at and is tuned pretty low. like i said im pretty new to it all and some help would be appreciated.

I know it’s a stupid question

So, I recently moved and packed the car tight. After a 10hr slug the audio cut out and I reached my hand under the passenger seat to feel the amp and it was cooking hot. I let it cool and it works until I try and push it, then cuts off again. I’m sure it’s going into protect mode, I just don’t know if the amp is salvageable. The fact it works at all tells me maybe. I haven’t gotten a good look yet, but I’m hoping perhaps the ground got really hot and I need to repair it. For reference it’s a 2012 Subaru WRX with the Kenwood that has the interface to the OBD and the rest is Alpine, I don’t know exact models except the sub is an S1.

What budget ish sub would sound good in this box?

I’m more of a sound quality than loud type of guy like i’d prefer sundown sa12 over american bass xfl, but as of right now i need a budget sub that’ll work with a CT1500.1 amp, stock electrical, 0 gauge ofc wire, and this box i have attached. I was thinking the Meso from CT but like i don’t know. I’m also putting kicker 6x9 and 3.5 in instead of my stock truck speakers. What would sound the best?

Box specs : 2 cubic feet, 26 square inches port, tuned to 32hz (i listen to mainly metal and little little rap)
Mounting depth goes all the way to like 11 inches

EDIT: I know i’m doing it backwards, i build for an sa12 but then it started rubbing in my temp box while i built this one so i need another sub and i don’t have 4-500 bucks to spend

Subs just cut out need help/advice

Bout a truck the end of January with subs installed from the previous owner worked great for about three months. Now it appears the are non functional. Is there a fuse somewhere I’m not seeing that could be blown. I traced power from the battery through the boot where it goes under the seat and comes up at the amp no fuse that I can find unless this white splice looking this is some kind of one I don’t recognize. Lights on the amp are not lit in any way so I’m assuming it’s not receiving power. At some point I’ll find a multi meter to see it the lines hot but don’t have time to deep dive anything.

What size subwoofer do I need

I was thinking of getting a subwoofer and place it to the right corner or maybe in between the right speaker and the cabinet. I was thinking of a svs 5000 but then do I need something that big with the space I have? Would 3000 be good enough? Or maybe dual 3000 micro?

New here, and just picked these up

I just picked up a set of kenwood kfc w3002 subs. I was 16 last time i had a sub (one 12 inch sony xplode) in the back of my hyundai tiburon😆. Anyway, im 31 now and picked these up from a garage sale for 20 dollars a couple da6s ago.. Says they still work. I own a genesis coupe now and im wondering if its worth it to throw these sexy lookin things in (once i clean them up of course). Didnt know they were so vintage......1997 i think. But how will they sound? If its anything near my old xplode ill be happy, also what amp would yall recommend and should i get an aftermarket radio or is the 2014 gen coupe radio just fine?

Getting used to bass overtime

I’ve been wondering about this for a while. I have a subwoofer in my car that other people say is really loud — like panels shaking, mirrors vibrating, and you can really feel the pressure.

But the weird thing is, to me it doesn’t feel that crazy anymore. It just feels kind of “normal,” even when it’s playing pretty hard.

So I’m curious — for people who have really loud systems, do you get used to it over time to the point where it doesn’t feel that intense anymore?

Like, does your brain just adapt so you stop noticing how strong the bass actually is?

Or does loud bass always feel crazy no matter what?

Just trying to figure out if this is normal.

Why are my door speakers cutting out????

Edit: Fixed! the adapter that connects to the factory harness hass 4 separate plugs. The blue one is an acc group of wires that caused the speakers to cut out. Since I have unplugged just the blue port (2 white 1 blue and 1 black) speakers are screaming as they should and all is well

I have a 1996 gmc sanoma running 1 kicker comp 10 300 watts off a 2 channel pioneer amp bridged 500 watt max with a Pioneer MVH-S23BT Single DIN. I rewired the head unit, ground and power wires, I cleaned the battery contact and put a new fuse on the 12v wire.

I also put the head unit from Rear/Rear to Sub/Rear in the settings. Before I installed the sub the door speakers worked fine at Vol level 25+. The door speakers cut out when its up and the amp gain is barely over half way turned up.

2 songs play almost with no interrupting the door speakers but. Idle. Driving (especially turning it seems sometimes) whenever actually the speakers cut out but the sub still hits with precision when the door speakers cut out.

Everything is new but that doesnt mean its all perfect. Iam leaning towards alternator or battery because the truck battery is small and the symptoms iam getting are similar to when my speakers would cut out when I had the system on without the car running the speakers would cut out b4 it killed the rest of the battery.

Any advice or tips would be appreciated much. THANK YOU!
