Post-Update Yasuhiro Build

Post-Update Yasuhiro Build

Hello, everyone! I haven't seen many posts about good Yasuhiro builds after the update, so I thought I'd share mine. He's an absolute monster if you build him correctly. He can tank the boss raid when other characters stall. On levels where I don't have enough damage output, reflecting the enemies' projectiles back at them has been a (literal) lifesaver.

Fair warning: his multi-attack loop gets so chaotic it sometimes breaks melee enemy pathing in ranked mode lol. The enemies with counterattacks sometimes chase him around the screen as he runs around attacking. Can be helpful, hurtful, and/or annoying.

Talents:

  1. Rebound Strike - The core of the build. Reflects projectiles and deals 200% of the original damage.
  2. Death Mark - Targets a random enemy, and you auto-crit on every hit, with a chance of doing an additional 250% damage. You also heal 8% of the damage you deal to them. This includes reflected projectiles and kunai counter-attacks. This has saved my bacon mid-round when I've taken damage!
  3. Select the Increase Attacks skill card to always be active - I have the card upgraded, so each time it's selected, I do +3 attacks instead of +2. With this selected, I start with a minimum of 5 attacks (4 without the upgrade).

Gear:

  1. Weapon: Shield Breaker (defender set)
  2. Ring: Ring of Carnage (warrior set)
  3. Gloves: Ironfist Bracers (defender set)
  4. Helmet: Crown of the Assassin (rogue set)
  5. Chest: Bastion Plate (defender set)
  6. Boots: Ironclad Stride (defender set)

I wanted the defender set bonus for a free revive. After the update, there's a point on every level where a single hit kills most characters. The goal with this build is to not let enemies touch me, but if they do, it's not an immediate game over. I'm saving resources to max out those Ironclad Stride boots on S stone upgrades for a free revive on every level.

Mid-Run Card Selection:

  1. Block Chance should be the highest priority
  2. Balanced mix of damage multipliers
    1. Number of attacks
    2. Multi-attack cards (double/triple/quad/quint)
    3. Raw damage %
    4. Crit damage %
  3. Don't waste time on health or defense during normal levels, but it's useful to put at least one into health on boss raids.
  4. Kunais can be helpful, but I wouldn't prioritize them. BUT my character is still only level 10 (only a few cards away from maxing him out), so I can't say if the Fiery Seal card makes it worth upgrading number/% chance of kunais.

That's it! LMK what you think. Yasuhiro is just so fun, and I think he deserves more love.

Open to Critique Swapping

Blurb:

Throw knives at a prisoner today, K-Pop concert tomorrow. For Bridget Cavanaugh, life is about balance.

Bridget enlisted in the Army in search of a fresh start, but her uncanny talent with a gun puts her on a fast track to the Special Forces.

After completing her training, she is placed on an ODA team known for its unethical methods for getting the job done. Bridget thrives in their world of risk, manipulation, and controlled violence, but the neat compartments in her mind begin to crack under the weight of what she’s asked to do.

As the lines blur and blood covers her hands, Bridget is forced to confront a question she can’t outrun: how much harm can she cause before the scales begin to tip?

TW: discussions of child abuse and DV, attempted SA, mentions of suicide, general violence

Ideal feedback:

  • Character consistency - Bridget is not mentally healthy and is good at putting on a face. Do her different choices in some chapters read as mischaracterization or heavy compartmentalization?
  • Plot clarity - There's some genre overlap and a few twists (organized crime subplot, unhealthy romance arcs, things left out by an unreliable narrator). Does it fit the theme, have enough foreshadowing, and make general sense, or does it feel like jumping the shark?
  • Pacing - The book takes place over the course of 7 years. Not all time jumps are specified plainly as "X months later," though there are markers of the passage of time. Does the progression ever get confusing?

Timeline: I would love feedback within the next 1-2 months. If we swap, I can commit to that same timeline.
