Wanted to share handful of things I noticed from his game today.

The biggest standout for me was that he looked like he belonged on the top line. He was one of Sweden's best players.

His motor is super high. He would have the second best motor on the Sharks. He is always working to make sure he was in position or effect the play positively.

His positioning is amazing for a player his age. I can't recall a moment where he looked put of position. Infact, more than once I was shocked that it was him in the perfect spot to break up a play or be the relief valve for the puck carrier. This skill looks super NHL ready and should let him impact the NHL day one.

His puck control is good but definitely saw him struggle some. Still though, for his age and against NHLers, it was good and can absolutely improve.

He can rip passes and they are accurate. He didnt seem to have great "touch" on some of his passes and was just ripping builts to players.

All around, I want him on the Sharks and I truly believe he could elevate anyone on the Sharks. I love the idea of him on a line with Misa and whoever we wanted to slap on the 2nd line.

This is not meant to be who should we draft post.

Being entirely honest, seeing the potential in defenseman is soemthing I struggle with. I played both forward and goalie for a good stretch and watched these positions closely to help adapt my game. So seeing promise in forwards and goalies is something I am capable of.

I can clearly see that Reid is a offensive and transitional threat. His skating is possibly the best in the draft. But I am not seeing his ability to defend. The times I have seen Reid play and the highlights I have watched actually concern me some. When I watch him I see many near giveaways, blown coverages, and some lack of defensive awareness.

This could very well be just the games and clips I have seen and/or the fact I am missing something or maybe I am not reading the plays and assignments right. A lot of the analysis videos gush over his positives but barely touch on his defensive abilities.

As it stands, Reid scares me and I want to be as excited about the prospect of adding him as I am about the prospect of adding Stenberg.
