PC doesn't start anymore after shutting it down normally

Hello everyone,

Maybe one of you has an idea what could be wrong with my PC. Any help would be appreciated.

Since this morning, my PC suddenly won't turn on anymore. Everything was working perfectly yesterday. I shut it down normally, but when I pressed the power button this morning, nothing really happened. I also tried turning the power switch on the PSU off and back on again, but the result was exactly the same.

Looking more closely, this is what happens when I press the power button: the CPU and RAM debug LEDs on my MSI B650 Tomahawk WiFi motherboard light up for only a fraction of a second, and then nothing else happens. I also don't hear the usual single click from my be quiet! Dark Power 13 1000W power supply, which normally occurs about a second after powering on the PC. The RGB fans and the RGB AIO don't light up either—not even for that brief moment. The fans don't spin at all; they don't even attempt to start. There's absolutely no movement.

One additional thing I noticed is that my Cooler Master HAF 700 EVO case has a front display. That display actually turns on and stays on. However, the RGB lighting on the front of the case does not turn on. My three monitors briefly wake up after I press the PC's power button, display "No Signal," and then go back into standby. My Razer DeathAdder V2 Pro, which is sitting on its charging dock (the dock is connected to the PC via USB cable), also briefly powers on, and the Razer logo lights up green.

Here's what I've already tried:

  • Removed the graphics card → same problem.
  • Disconnected everything from the motherboard except the AIO → same problem, although in this case the HAF 700 EVO's front display also stays off.
  • Disconnected everything from the PSU except the 24-pin motherboard cable and the two 8-pin CPU power cables → same problem.

At the moment, I'm leaning toward either a faulty PSU or a faulty motherboard. What do you think? Do you agree, or do you have any other ideas about what I could test next?

Was ich schon ausprobiert habe:

  • Grafikkarte ausbauen -> gleiches Problem.

Komponenten:

  • Asrock X870 Steel Legend Wifi Motherboard
  • 2x32GB Corsair DDR5 5200 RAM (EXPO nicht aktiviert)
  • AMD Ryzen 9800x3d CPU
  • Deepcool Assassin CPU Kühler
  • Samsung 990 Evo Plus 4TB m.2 NVME SSD
  • MSI Gaming Trio OC RTX 5070ti
  • Corsair RM850e Netzteil

Was wir schon versucht haben:

  • CMOS Zurücksetzen
  • RAM Riegel tauschen/einzeln benutzen
  • Ohne GPU/SSD starten
  • CPU neu einsetzen
  • SSD in einen anderen Slot
  • Nun ein komplett neues Motherboard (gleiches Modell) eingebaut. Problem besteht weiterhin

PC won't boot. No screen output. Stuck on green "boot" LED

I've built a PC for a friend (built many PCs before) and it stopped working. We tried a lot but nothing seems to work. Any help or ideas appreciated.

Problem: It started like 1-2 months after building the PC. When starting, the PC would stop at the green "boot" LED on the motherboard. My friend then shut down the PC by holding the power button and started again. Usually after 2-3 tries the PC started normally and while it was on, no issues or weird behavior was noticed. Then now, after roughly 6 months from building the PC, it never boots again and is always stuck on the green boot LED, no matter how much we tried.

When it worked, the LEDs usually went Red (CPU) -> Red + Yellow (RAM) blinking -> Green (Boot) -> White (VGA). It feels a bit weird that the white VGA LED comes after the boot, but that's how it always worked.

What we tried so far:

  • Starting without SSD/GPU
  • Reseating CPU
  • Swapping RAM
  • Trying different ports
  • Try using integrated graphics
  • Try resetting CMOS
  • Today we swapped the motherboard to a new one (same model), still the same issue
  • PSU was tested by a PC repair shop and was found to be working fine
  • He didn't want EXPO do be activated, so RAM was always running stock speed

PC components:

  • Asrock X870 Steel Legend Wifi Motherboard
  • 2x32GB Corsair DDR5 5200 RAM
  • AMD Ryzen 9800x3d CPU
  • Deepcool Assassin CPU Kühler
  • Samsung 990 Evo Plus 4TB m.2 NVME SSD
  • MSI Gaming Trio OC RTX 5070ti Corsair RM850e Netzteil

My next assumptions would be that the CPU itself is dead or not working correctly. Maybe the RAM but I think that's unlikely. Anyone has any ideas or had a similar issue?
