Another Pack Hacker x Matador Refraction post … mini review
TL;DR - great small bag with surprisingly enough space, time will tell on build quality
First, shout out to the OP who posted the link a day early from its released , got lucky because matador and pack hacker definitely dropped the ball with this release.
Using this bag on a small one night work trip packed my essentials and work stuff. Normally I travel with the Seg28, and was testing out Aer go pack 2 and from that to this had to comprised a little as the 4 liter difference between the day packs was noticeable.
- 16 liters is tight for how I travel for my short work trips but was able to utilize the water pockets and the small organization came in clutch
- how light it is became a new found pro for me even tho my normal seg28 isn’t that heavy
- quality for the most part is great, zippers are great aswell
My worries - due to it being so light , there’s not much fabric. I have decent amount of matador products so theyr quality dosnt really make me worry , but just seeing and feeling how thin the straps are make me worry a little in the long run. Same thing with the chest straps
What I think they could improve - for sure adding a lighter color inside would make a great improvement, I know why it’s black because trying to save on weight every where they can but I think it’s a nice sacrifice for a few grams.
- 16 liter feels like a nice challenge , but there is a part of me that feels a 20 liter version would be unreal as the perfect packable day bag
- having this a constant that they sell. No reason to keep it limited tbh.
All around quite surprised , and between this and aer go pack 2 , is getting a little difficult to decide wich one stays. Will be testing it out on a longer 3 night trip with it being the only thing I bring so will be better to see since I won’t have to bring my work stuff with.
